How much money was there in the pile of cash found from Jharkhand Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu’s locations in Jharkhand, Bengal and Odisha has been revealed. The Income Tax Department has clarified that after the search operation, jewelery worth Rs 351 crore and Rs 2.80 crore were found from the residences of Dheeraj Sahu’s relatives. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) gave this information on Thursday (21 December). However, the board did not take anyone’s name. In a statement without naming anyone, the Income Tax Department said the group’s business is controlled by a family based in Ranchi, Jharkhand. A member of this family is ‘a person associated with politics’. According to news agency PTI, official sources confirmed that the action would be taken against Boudh Distillery Pvt Ltd (BDPL), linked to the family of Congress Rajya Sabha member Dheeraj Prasad Sahu, in more than 30 districts across 10 districts of Odisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal. It was related to the search operation started on the premises on December 6. During the 10-day long search, the Income Tax Department also raided the house of Sahu’s family in Ranchi.
