Coal businessman Abhishek Srivastava was shot by criminals at 10.30 am on Thursday in Asthapuram, Pirra of Ratu police station area. Eleven bullets were fired at him. In critical condition, he was taken to Medica Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. He was riding a Fortuner. About four criminals who came in Maharashtra number Scorpio carried out the incident. After the incident, a crowd of people gathered at the spot. Abhishek Srivastava had left the house at 10.15 in the morning saying that he was going to Ranchi. His house is half a kilometer away from the Ring Road. They were going towards the Ring Road, when a white Scorpio car came from the front. Due to this, two criminals came out wearing monkey caps and started firing at his Fortuner car from the front. One criminal kept firing with a pistol in both his hands, while the other criminal after firing came back to the Scorpio, took out his pistol and started firing. Two criminals were sitting in the car. After the shooting, the criminals rode on the Scorpio, backed the vehicle and fled towards the Ring Road. During the incident, people entered their houses after hearing the sound of gunshot. Later people informed the police and Abhishek was taken to Medica Hospital. Police recovered 11 shells from the spot.
