Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on the social media platform ‘X’ that former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh will be awarded the country’s highest civilian award ‘Bharat Ratna’. Former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao and famous scientist MS Swaminathan will also be honored with ‘Bharat Ratna’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi further wrote on the social media platform that our government has got the good fortune that former Prime Minister of the country Chaudhary Charan Singh ji is being honored with Bharat Ratna. This honor is dedicated to the incomparable contribution of Charan Singh to the country. He had dedicated his entire life for the rights as well as welfare of the farmers which will always be remembered. PM Modi further wrote that whether he was the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh or the Home Minister of the country and even as an MLA, he always worked to give impetus to nation building. He was also seen standing firmly against the Emergency. His dedication to our farmer brothers and sisters and his commitment to democracy during the Emergency is inspiring to the entire country.
