Now common man will also ride semi high speed train

Vande Bharat train has been designed in such a way that it can run at a speed of 180 kilometers per hour. But, till now this train has run only for special people. Special people in the sense that the fare of this train is higher than other trains of Indian Railways. Therefore the common man or the poor man can only see it, but cannot ride in it. But the Railway Ministry is developing a train on the same Vande Bharat platform, which will have second class and sleeper class seats. The first such train is being prepared at the Railways’ Integral Coach Factory in Chennai. If everything goes well then this train will be started this month.

There will be less burden on the common man’s pocket

The common man’s train which is being prepared on the platform of Vande Bharat Train i.e. Train-18, will also beat the present Rajdhani Express in speed. All its features will be like that of Vande Bharat train. The only difference will be that it will have general coaches, without AC meaning there will be sleeper class sleeper coaches. Currently its first rack is being built in ICF, 22 coaches are being made in it. Of these, two coaches are guard coaches, 12 are sleeper class coaches while eight are second class or general coaches.

Engine will be in front and rear of the train

At present, in the normal mail and express trains of the Railways, only one engine is installed at the front. But the upgraded mail/express rake which is currently being prepared in the ICF will have engines installed on both the front and rear sides. By doing this, the train attains high speed within a few minutes of stopping somewhere. This is called push-pull method in railway language. For this, two WAP5 type engines are being prepared especially at Chittaranjan Locomotive Factory CLW. You must be aware that Vande Bharat train is already equipped with an engine. There is no need to install a separate engine in it.

Know here when this train will be ready

Chennai-based ICF GM BG Mallya has told the media that work on this train for the common man is going on at a fast pace. He has expressed hope that this train set will be ready by next week. As soon as both the engines are received from CLW, testing of the train will start. It is expected that this train will be ready for operation by the end of this month. At this time, long distance mail and trains take a lot of time to reach. It is believed that this time will be reduced after the arrival of new, advanced train sets. A senior railway official says that if we look only between Delhi and Howrah, this train can save two to three hours in travel time.
