Uttarkashi Tunnel Rescue: Many teams are working day and night to rescue 41 laborers trapped in the tunnel accident in Uttarkashi. The rescue operation is going on continuously since the accident. To rescue the workers trapped in the under-construction Silkyara-Barkot tunnel, the vertical drilling being done above the tunnel has reached 31 meters. It is noteworthy that after the breakage of the auger machine doing vertical drilling, vertical drilling was started from the top of the tunnel on Sunday to prepare an alternative route. At the same time, officials say that a total of 86 meters of vertical drilling will be done to reach the workers trapped in the tunnel and it will take four days.

Rescue operation continues continuously

Efforts are on to rescue workers trapped in Uttarkashi Tunnel of Uttarakhand. NDMA member Lieutenant General (retired) Syed Ata Hasnain has said that the situation is under control. He told that food and medicines are being sent inside as per the need. Psychological aspects have also been given importance. Backup communications have been established and family members are able to communicate with them continuously. He said there is nothing to worry about. We will soon evacuate the workers.

Here, PM Modi is constantly keeping an eye on the Uttarkashi rescue operation. Updates regarding rescue have been taken from time to time by the PMO. In this series, on Monday, Dr. PK Mishra, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reached Silkyara and took stock of the rescue operations being carried out for the last two weeks to rescue the stranded workers. During this, he understood the geographical location of the four and a half kilometer long tunnel under construction through graphic presentation and mapping. Pramod Kumar Mishra understood the intricacies of the rescue work going on inside the tunnel and encouraged them by talking to the officials as well as the engineers and workers engaged in this work.

It is noteworthy that a part of the Silkyara tunnel being built on the Yamunotri National Highway had suddenly collapsed on November 12. After which 41 laborers working there got trapped. Rescue operations are being conducted on war footing to take them out. Many teams are working for rescue. The blades of the American auger machine got stuck in the tunnel during digging, which were removed with the plasma machine.
