The workers, who were fighting for their lives for 16 days, can come out of the dark chamber of the tunnel at any time today. Complete arrangements have been made to safely rescue the 41 laborers trapped in the Silkyara tunnel on 28th November, the 17th day of the accident. Today the rescue team reached the workers trapped in the tunnel and the work of laying pipes in the tunnel was completed. With the tireless efforts of technical experts and many teams day and night, the way out of the tunnel was decided. For rescue, the team of experts pushed the pipe meter by meter to reach the workers. Now the workers will be taken out one by one through the same pipe.

Here, Akshat Katyal, MD of Accurate Concrete Solutions, Uttarkashi Tunnel Rescue, said that the pipe has been pushed inside the tunnel very carefully without any obstruction. He said that a breakthrough has been achieved and the pipe has passed. He said that the work to save the workers has started. There are at least 3 people. He said that the rescue operation will be conducted in four phases. Akshat said that NDRF teams have entered inside the tunnel. The workers will be taken out as soon as the ramp is built. According to the latest information, the workers will be taken out of the tunnel one by one. The workers will be evacuated within an interval of five to seven minutes.

For the successful rescue of the workers trapped in the tunnel, many other teams including ONGC, SJVNL, RVNL, NHIDCL and THDCL have worked day and night for the rescue. Apart from this, many experts have also been included in the rescue. Australia-based President of the International Tunneling and Underground Space Association, Arnold Dix, was also called to Uttarakhand. The entire operation was carried out under his supervision. Dix had reached the incident site in Uttarkashi on 20 November.
