Uttarkashi Tunnel Rescue Updates: A big success was achieved on the 17th day in the Uttarkashi Tunnel accident. Ultimately, 41 laborers trapped in the tunnel were taken out safely and after first aid, they were shifted to Community Health Center Chinyalisaur through ambulance.

Rat mining was used to rescue people trapped in the tunnel. A path was made to reach the workers by digging by hand in the narrow place. Where modern technology could not help, age-old methods worked.
Agencies worked on war footing
The agencies engaged in the rescue operation to rescue 41 laborers trapped in the Silkyara Tunnel of Uttarkashi continued to work on a war footing. On the 17th day of the rescue, the debris of the American auger machine was completely taken out from inside the tunnel and digging beyond 45 feet was done by hand by rat miners.
Team of fast digging experts
After the failure of heavy machinery, Rat Miners were deployed to rescue the workers trapped inside the tunnel, which is a team of experts who dig fast in small spaces like rats. The lives of 41 tunnel workers depended on them. These people did further digging by hand, for which they had hammer, crowbar and many digging tools.
President Draupadi Murmu expressed happiness over the safe evacuation of the workers.

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami met the workers rescued from Silkyara Tunnel.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami met the workers rescued from Silkyara Tunnel. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced an assistance amount of Rs 1 lakh each from the state government to all the 41 workers who were evacuated from the Silkyara Tunnel. He has also requested the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited to give one month paid leave to the workers.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari expressed happiness over the success of the rescue operation.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said, I am extremely happy that 41 workers trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel have been successfully rescued. A part of the tunnel had collapsed on 12 November
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami earlier wrote on ‘X’ – With the immense blessings of Baba Boukhnag, as a result of the prayers of crores of citizens of the country and due to the tireless efforts of the rescue agencies engaged in the operation, the work of laying pipes in the tunnel was completed. And our brothers will be taken out soon. Let us tell you that a part of the tunnel had collapsed on November 12 and 41 workers were trapped inside it.
