Uttarakhand Tunnel Rescue: President Draupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the successful operation to rescue 41 workers who were trapped in the Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarakhand for about 17 days. Draupadi Murmu said the nation salutes the resilience of the workers and is grateful to them for building critical infrastructure despite great personal risk. “I congratulate the teams and all the experts who have worked with incredible patience and determination to accomplish one of the most difficult rescue operations in history,” she wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar expressed happiness

Meanwhile, Jagdeep Dhankhar congratulated the dedicated teams and experts for executing the challenging rescue operation with patience and determination and wished all the workers a healthy and happy life. Dhankhar said, “I am very happy to know that all the workers trapped in the tunnel in Uttarakhand have been rescued safely. His 17-day ordeal demonstrated human stamina, unmatched patience and the indomitable belief that the country stood with him.”

Soon after the workers were taken out of the tunnel, PM Modi saluted the spirit of the people involved in the operation and said that their courage and determination has given a new life to the workers. PM Modi said on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), “I also salute the spirit of all the people associated with this rescue operation. His bravery and determination have given new life to our labor brothers. Everyone involved in this mission has set a wonderful example of humanity and teamwork.” He said, ”I want to say to the comrades who were trapped in the tunnel that your courage and patience impressed everyone. Inspiring. I wish you all well and good health.” PM Modi said that the success of the rescue operation of our labor brothers in Uttarkashi is going to make everyone emotional. He wrote, “It is a matter of great satisfaction that after a long wait, these friends of ours will now meet their loved ones. The patience and courage that all these families have shown in this challenging time cannot be appreciated enough.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that this is very good news for the country and he salutes the patience of the workers who have faced such challenging situation for so long. He expressed his gratitude to all the people and agencies who worked tirelessly to save the lives of the workers.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari expressed happiness

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said he was feeling “relieved and happy” that all the workers were evacuated safely. He said, “It was a coordinated effort of multiple agencies, which is one of the most significant rescue operations in recent years. Despite facing many challenges, various departments and agencies worked closely with each other.”

Mallikarjun Kharge requested for compensation

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that it is a matter of great relief and happiness for everyone that the workers have been taken out of the tunnel safely. He urged the government to provide prompt health benefits and proper compensation to the workers and demanded that safety audit of all the under-construction projects be conducted so that such a situation does not arise again.

Rahul Gandhi expressed happiness over the safe return of workers

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has expressed happiness over the safe return of the workers. He wrote on ‘X’, “The safe return of the labor brothers trapped in the Silkyara tunnel of Uttarkashi is a very happy news. My heartiest congratulations to them and their families. The safety of our labor brothers who are building India is of paramount importance. I salute all the brave men who made this difficult campaign successful.”

The condition of any worker is not serious!

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami thanked PM Modi for providing continuous support during the rescue efforts. The condition of none of the workers is critical, but all of them will be kept under medical observation before being sent home. He said the evacuation started from the youngest workers. He said that all of them were healthy and crawled out of the passage on their own. Dhami also said that each rescued worker will be given Rs 1 lakh.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his gratitude to all the people who made their invaluable contribution in saving the lives of the workers. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote on Twitter, “The operation to rescue 41 workers trapped in the tunnel in Silkyara ended successfully, with which India heaved a sigh of relief. For the last 17 days the entire country was praying for his safe return. The workers showed remarkable stamina and courage.”

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal called the safe evacuation of the workers a victory for the unity of the people of India and praised all those involved in the operation. Kejriwal wrote on ‘X’, “The efforts of NDRF, Army and other agencies have paid off…I salute the efforts and hard work of many people involved in the operation who worked day and night to make it a success.” Kejriwal wrote, “I also salute the patience and courage of all those workers who supported and encouraged each other in adverse circumstances. This is a victory for the unity of the people of India.” Puducherry Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan expressed happiness over the workers coming out of the tunnel.
