Uttarakhand Tunnel Accident: These 4 workers from Jharkhand are trying their best to get their colleagues out.

Deoghar: Four laborers Umesh Mandal, Binod Mandal, Pankaj Mandal, Ranjan Mandal of Jogiya village of Mohanpur block had a narrow escape in the Uttarkashi tunnel incident of Uttarakhand. All the workers trapped in the tunnel were working in night shift and the debris collapsed in the tunnel at five in the morning. All these four laborers, residents of Jogiya, had come out of the tunnel at eight in the night after doing the afternoon shift a day before the incident. Due to which they were saved from becoming victims of the incident. Umesh Mandal told that he too was often on duty at night, but coincidentally he was not on duty that day. His companions trapped in the tunnel are residents of Giridih, Koderma and other districts. Umesh said that all the workers trapped in the tunnel are safe. He is also talking to the workers over phone. Till Monday, 24 meters of debris has been removed from the tunnel. On Monday evening, light food and mobile chargers were delivered to the trapped laborers by inserting a six-inch pipe into the tunnel. Umesh said that all of us are busy in providing relief to our comrades trapped in the tunnel.

Case registered against eight including husband for murder of married woman

The hanging body of 19-year-old Shabnam Bibi was found in Bhangiyapahari village of Mohanpur police station area on Sunday. The deceased’s father, Khalil Ansari, resident of Basmata village of Jarmundi police station area, has registered a case against eight people including son-in-law Fayyaz Ansari, accusing them of dowry murder. The father said that he had got his daughter Shabnam married to Fayyaz only six months ago. After keeping her well for a few days, he started harassing her, demanding dowry money. After getting information about this from the daughter, he got the Panchayat done and started coming to his house. After this the accused took Shabnam to her in-laws’ house. He alleged that on Sunday, Samadhi Bashir Mian along with his son-in-law and Samadhi’s five sons together murdered him and hanged him with the intention of hiding the evidence. The police have registered a case of dowry death on the application of the victim and are investigating the matter.
