Instructions to officers to deal strictly with anarchic elements
As violence increased, all the shops in Haldwani were closed. After the curfew was imposed, all the schools from classes 1 to 12 in and around the city were also closed. According to the information received, the illegal madrassa and mosque built in Malik’s garden in Indira Nagar area of Banbhulpura was demolished by the Municipal Corporation team using JCB machine. When this action was being taken, senior officials including Municipal Commissioner Pankaj Upadhyay, City Magistrate Richa Singh, Deputy District Magistrate Paritosh Verma were present on the spot. As soon as the action started, a large number of angry local residents including women protested against the action, after which the entire incident was seen.
