Uttarakhand: 149 Chardham pilgrims lost their lives in two months, CM Dhami alerted

Uttarakhand: The havoc of heavy rains is being seen in Uttarakhand at this time. Meanwhile, in view of the deteriorating situation, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the Disaster Control Room and reviewed the situation in the state. In view of the deteriorating weather, CM Dhami has advised the Chardham pilgrims to continue the journey only after getting complete information about the weather. For information, let us tell you that during the last two months, 149 Chardham pilgrims have died in Uttarakhand.

CM Dhami appealed

Appealing to the Chardham pilgrims, CM Dhami said that, I would like to appeal to the devotees that if the weather is bad, they should stop their journey and follow the forecast of the Meteorological Department. CM Dhami has also instructed the officials to keep an eye on the districts with high rainfall. All these instructions have been given so that emergency situations can be dealt with.

District Officer on alert mode

CM Dhami has instructed the district officials to remain in alert mode. While giving instructions, the CM said that the police, State Disaster Response Force and health workers should be prepared with complete arrangements to deal with any situation. CM Dhami has asked the people living on the banks of rivers and drains to be extra cautious. People have been asked to make all kinds of arrangements in advance so that they do not face any problem if they have to leave their homes due to heavy rains.

According to media reports, more than 31 lakh pilgrims have visited Chardham so far. On the other hand, according to reports, 149 people have died so far in the yatra that started on April 22. All the National Highways have been kept open to reach the Chardhams. For information, let us tell you that warnings have been issued in different areas of Uttarakhand till June 29.
