UPSC CSE Prelims 2024 Postponed: Union Public Service Commission has postponed the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2024. Now this examination will not be conducted on 26th May but on 16th June 2024. Candidates who will appear for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination can check the official notice on the official website of UPSC, upsc.gov.in.

The official notification reads, “Due to the schedule of imminent General Elections, the Commission has decided to postpone the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination – 2024, which was scheduled to be held from 26-05- 2024 to 16-06-2024 Indian Forest Service Examination , also serves as a screening test for 2024.”

According to the UPSC notification released last month, approximately 1,056 vacancies can be filled through this year’s examination. In this, 180 posts of IAS are filled, in which 73 posts have been reserved for General Category, 24 for SC, 13 for ST, 52 for OBC and a total of 18 seats have been reserved for EWS. There are a total of 150 posts to be filled for IPS, in which 60 posts have been reserved for General Category, 23 posts for SC, 10 posts for ST, 42 posts for OBC and 15 posts for EWS. A total of 55 posts of IFS will be filled. Let us tell you that Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases from April 19. Apart from this, counting of votes is going to happen on June 4.
