UP’s first divisional gazetteer released in Moradabad, know here what are its specialties

Commissioner Anjaneya Kumar Singh released the first Gazetteer of Panchayat Bhavan in Moradabad division of UP. This is the first gazetteer of the state at the divisional level. The geographical structure, history, political, social, economic and cultural aspects of the division are depicted in the Gazetteer. A team of about 50 people worked in preparing the gazetteer and it was ready in 6 months. The people of Moradabad have received the gazetteer after 55 years. Many top officials, public representatives, poets, writers, journalists and social workers were present in the release program organized in the Panchayat Bhawan auditorium. During this, Commissioner Anjaneya Kumar Singh said that in this Gazetteer, the entire historical, cultural, religious, geographical structure and economic development of the five districts of the division, Moradabad, Bijnor, Amroha, Sambhal and Rampur, along with various personalities, arts and facts and figures will be included. Correct and accurate information has been compiled. Misinformation continues to circulate on Google. To know the correct information, there was a need to prepare a gazetteer. Because some people set the narrative by looking at Google. Officials do not follow any narrative. They talk about something with strong evidence. The facts published in the Gazetteer are authentic.

The data of the departments has been included in the gazetteer.

After taking the data and information from all the departments, correcting the differences and examining it on logical criteria, it has been included in the Gazetteer. After evaluating all the data on every basis, they have been combined and included in the Gazetteer in a transparent manner, so that it is completely error free and the public can use it as a document. According to the information, the last gazetteer of Moradabad district was published in 1968. After that no work was done on it, hence now in the modern era a great need was felt so that the public could get correct information about their district. In such a situation, a gazetteer of the entire division was prepared. In which officials from all departments participated in it and made it successful.

50 officers have prepared the gazetteer

It is being told that more than 50 skilled officers have been deployed to prepare the gazetteer and their data was sought from all the departments. The data was checked in a comparative manner with other departments, so that the correct compiled data and information of Moradabad division could be made available to the people.

It is said about Moradabad that Shahjahan was angry with Rustam and built this city but these facts do not match with history. Therefore, in the Gazetteer, one will get to read the authenticity of history from villages to cities and details of their journey of development. The first issue of the Gazetteer shows the data of pilgrimage sites, religious places, business activities, police force and other departments of Moradabad, Sambhal, Amroha, Rampur, Bijnor districts.

Rampur’s Raza Library also deserves special mention

Along with this, famous places of every district of the division, famous businesses, brass handicrafts of Moradabad, wooden goods of Bijnor, bone and horn products of Sambhal, Dholak of Amroha, musical instruments of Rampur, historical buildings and libraries including Raza Library. Schools, colleges, railway stations and other ancient places have been included together. In this gazetteer, along with Shilp Guru Padmashree Dilshad Hussain of Moradabad, Vidur Kuti of Bijnor, Hari Har Mandir of Sambhal, Raza Library of Rampur have also been specially mentioned.

The theme of the Gazetteer is based on the promotion and revival and restoration of art. On this occasion, District Officer Manvendra Singh, DIG Range Muniraj ji, Additional Commissioner BN Yadav, Appointed Gajendra Pratap Singh, BJP MLA Ritesh Gupta, Poet Mansoor Usmani, Poet Maheshwar Tiwari, Sangh Pracharak Watan ji, Mayor Vinod Aggarwal, District Panchayat. President Shefali Singh etc. were present.
