UPPSC PCS Mains 2023 starts today, see schedule and exam guidelines

UPPSC PCS Mains 2023: Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) PCS Mains 2023 examination has started from today. The examination will continue till 29th September. The exam is being conducted every day in two shifts – first shift from 9.30 am to 1:30 pm and second shift from 2 pm to 5 pm, a total of eight papers are being conducted for a total of 1500 marks.

Exams will run from 26th to 29th September

  • According to the official schedule, today on 26th September, there will be examination of General Hindi in the first shift and Essay question paper in the second shift. Tomorrow on 27th September, examination of General Studies will be conducted in the first shift and General Studies II question paper will be conducted in the second shift.

  • Whereas the examination of General Studies III will be held on September 28 in the first shift and the examination of General Studies IV will be held in the second shift on the same day. On September 29, the fifth question paper of Social Studies will be conducted in the first shift and the sixth question paper of Social Studies will be conducted in the second shift.

UPPSC PCS Mains 2023

A total of four examination centers have been earmarked for the examination in Prayagraj and one in Lucknow. 3852 candidates will appear in UPPSC PCS Mains 2023 exam. The Commission had canceled the candidature of 153 candidates who were successful in the pre-examination. A representation was sought by 12th September. A total of 4047 candidates were declared successful for the main examination. The preliminary examination was held on 14 May. Out of 565459 candidates who had applied for the preliminary examination, 345022 candidates appeared in the examination.

Appointment will be made on these posts

Through the recruitment drive, the Commission intends to fill a total of 254 posts. Those who qualify the exam will be recruited for various posts which include Sub-Registrar, Assistant Labor Commissioner, Assistant Controller of Legal Measurements (Grade II), Technical Assistant (Geology), Law Officer, Technical Assistant (Geophysics), Tax Assessing Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Jail Superintendent, District Commandant Home Guard, Excise Inspector and Deputy Jailer are included.
