UP: When justice was not given in Chief Minister’s court, Ballia farmer attempted self-immolation in CM’s program

Lucknow : When Shailendra Kharwar, a resident of Tikhampur, Sadar Kotwali of Ballia, did not get justice in the Chief Minister’s Janata Darbar in Lucknow, he set himself on fire at the program of CM Yogi Adityanath in Ballia. There was a stir at the Chief Minister’s program in Bansdih due to an attempt of self-immolation by pouring petrol outside the audience gallery. Regarding the incident, the victim’s son Abhishek told that his father asked him to go to see the CM’s program in the morning. He came along on the bike. Here suddenly he poured petrol and set himself on fire. No one was allowed to have even a hint of self-immolation. No one in the family knew that he could do this. During treatment in the hospital, Shailendra Kharwar told that he has a land dispute with his neighbor Amitabh Srivastava. Amitabh Srivastava broke the iron gate and stole it on 19th February. Gave a written complaint to the Kotwali police but no case was registered. Didn’t get justice from DM. Shailendra along with his son Abhishek reached the Chief Minister’s court in Lucknow on October 9. Complaint about the matter was made to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Shailendra had accused Awadhesh Singh, a resident of Belthara Road, of embezzling Rs 19 lakh in the name of making him a partner. Inspector Yogendra Prasad Singh, in-charge of Bansdih Kotwali, while talking to the local media, said that the victim had attempted self-immolation somewhere away from the venue. His attempt was to spoil the atmosphere. The police have seized the complaint given earlier and the mobile phone. The case is being investigated.
