Zero visibility is being recorded at many places on the roads. Due to this, road, rail and air traffic is being affected due to vehicle collision. People are resorting to bonfires to escape the cold wave. According to the Meteorological Department, at present there is no possibility of getting relief from fog. At the end of the year, melting will increase further due to rain. Wednesday morning started with dense fog in Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow and other cities including Kanpur, Agra, Jhansi, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Bareilly, Meerut, Noida, Ghaziabad. Due to school holidays in many places, children have got relief in this situation. But, the winter weather is taking a toll on those who go out in the morning for work. The situation was such that it was difficult to see beyond a few steps. Many areas including Lucknow were seen completely under the grip of fog. The fog seemed to be breaking the record till now. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert regarding fog in Bijnor, Moradabad, Bareilly, Rampur, Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri and Bahraich on Wednesday.

Dense fog will trouble on 29th and 30th December

According to Zonal Meteorological Centre, Lucknow, dense fog will prevail in the state on Wednesday. After this, dense fog will be seen on 29th and 30th December also. During this period the weather will remain generally dry. But, due to melting, people’s problems may increase. Drivers may face problems due to very low visibility due to fog. After this, the weather will remain dry on the last day of the year, while there is a possibility of rain in the beginning of the new year. There are chances of rain or thundershowers in the entire state. In such a situation, there is a possibility of mercury falling due to increased melting. The first day of the new year can prove to be a shivering one in terms of winter.

Maximum and minimum temperature conditions

According to Atul Kumar Singh, senior meteorologist of the Zonal Meteorological Center, there is no possibility of much change in the maximum and minimum temperatures in the state for the next four days. A western disturbance in the mid-tropospheric westerly winds is active at some places in the country. An area of ​​cyclonic winds has formed over Bangladesh. By December 29, a fresh western disturbance is likely to reach the Western Himalayas. Light rain is possible at some places in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Dry weather conditions will continue in the rest of the country till December 29. Rain and snowfall may start in the Western Himalayas from the night of 29 December.

Visibility reached zero due to fog

Talking about the weather of Uttar Pradesh, the effect of fog is continuously increasing. Zero visibility has been recorded in Kanpur, Agra and Prayagraj. Similar situation has been seen in many other places in the state. Visibility reached 10 meters in Varanasi, 20 meters in Shahjahanpur, Fatehgarh Fursatganj and Orai and 40 meters in Jhansi. Apart from this, due to dense fog in the capital Lucknow including Hardoi, Hamirpur and Aligarh, visibility was recorded at 50 meters. Whereas visibility between 100 to 200 was recorded in Etawah, Bareilly, Ballia, Meerut, Barabanki and Banda. In such a situation, it is becoming difficult to go out on the streets in the morning and late at night.

Orange and yellow alert areas till December 30

Saharanpur, Shamli, Varanasi, Aligarh, Ambedkarnagar, Amethi, Auraiya, Ayodhya, Badaun, Balrampur, Barabanki, Bulandshahr, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, Gonda, Hapur, Hardoi, Jhansi, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Kasganj, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Sambhal, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur, Unnao, Bahraich, Bareilly, Bijnor, Lakhimpur Kheri, Moradabad, Pilibhit, Rampur, Sultanpur Amroha, Azamgarh, Baghpat, Bahraich, Ballia, Banda, Bareilly, Bijnor, Chitrakoot, Fatehpur, Ghazipur, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Jaunpur, Kaushambi, Lakhimpurkhiri, Mahoba, Mau, Meerut, Moradabad, Rampur and Sant Ravidas Nagar.

Air travel affected due to bad weather

Meanwhile, due to bad weather in Uttar Pradesh, road, rail and air traffic is also being affected. Passengers are facing problems due to irregular flight schedules. Due to fog in Lucknow, 9 flights to and from the capital were affected on Tuesday. The flight which left from Delhi at 11:45 pm reached Lucknow airport with a delay of one and a quarter hour. Similarly, the Air Asia flight leaving from Lucknow for Delhi at 9:30 pm was delayed by 1 hour 20 minutes. Due to lack of visibility at the airport, the Air India flight from Lucknow to Delhi at 9:45 pm was delayed by 45 minutes. The 2:00 pm Indigo airline flight from Lucknow to Delhi was delayed by about 3:30 hours. At the same time, the Indigo Airline flight from Mumbai to Lucknow at 8:00 pm arrived late by about 40 minutes. The 10:45 am flight of Indigo airline from Lucknow to Mumbai was delayed by 1 hour 40 minutes. The Indigo airline flight from Lucknow to Mumbai reached Mumbai 56 minutes late at around 3:00 pm.
