UP Weather Update: During Sawan in UP, most of the districts are feeling the heat of Jeth month. Due to the monsoon trough moving out of Uttar Pradesh, clouds are not raining or it is raining only sporadically. In such a situation, due to the rapid rise in temperature, people are suffering from the heat.

In most of the districts of Uttar Pradesh including the capital Lucknow, there is a feeling of heat since Saturday morning. However, due to re-activation of monsoon in the coming days, there are chances of getting relief. Change in the weather can be seen in the state from July 24. There is also a possibility of heavy rains at one or two places in western and eastern Uttar Pradesh on July 24.

No heavy rain this week

The mood of the weather has completely changed in Lucknow. This week has not been good in terms of rain. There was no rain this week or after a few minutes of light rain, sunny weather is being seen. As soon as the monsoon comes, there is a sense of greenery and rain everywhere in everyone’s mind. People wait for Sawan to get relief from the scorching heat. But this time in Sawan also people are worried due to the humid and sticky heat.

Record rise in day as well as night temperature

In most of the districts of the state, there has been a record rise in day as well as night temperature. However, at the beginning of the monsoon, the hope of good rain and relief from the heat was raised in the minds of the people. But, that hope has been shattered by the stopped rain and rising mercury. Meteorologists are also worried especially because of the rise in night temperature. On Thursday night, the minimum temperature crossed 30 and recorded 30.1 degrees.

According to Atul Kumar Singh, Senior Meteorologist, Regional Meteorological Center, Lucknow, on July 8, 2018, the minimum temperature was recorded at 30 degree Celsius. After five years this record was broken and on Friday the mercury was recorded at 30.1 degree Celsius.

Along with this, there is no possibility of rain in Lucknow and surrounding areas on Saturday as well. Here the maximum temperature is expected to reach 36.0 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to reach 30 degree Celsius. The situation of increase in minimum temperature will continue for the time being.

According to meteorologists, there are no signs of any significant change in the weather for the next two days. The heat may have to be faced in a similar way. The day’s mercury was 36.9 degrees Celsius on Friday, the day’s temperature was recorded at 37.1 degrees Celsius on Thursday. According to the Meteorological Department, there are signs of monsoon returning to UP only after a few days. There is a possibility of rain in western UP first, after that the monsoon will move towards eastern Uttar Pradesh.

In the last 24 highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded at 38.8 degree Celsius in Agra and 37.0 degree Celsius in Prayagraj. Whereas, the minimum temperature was recorded at 26.0 degree Celsius in Lakhimpur Kheri. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature is not expected to increase in the state in the next two days. After that a drop of two to three degree Celsius can be seen. At the same time, there is no possibility of any major change in the minimum temperature during the next five days.

There is a possibility of light rain and lightning at one or two places in western and eastern UP on July 22 in the state. During this, rain may occur at some places in Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Balrampur, Shravasti and Bahraich. There is a possibility of rain in Rampur, Moradabad, Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Saharanpur Lakhimpur Kheri, Pilibhit and Bareilly.

According to the Meteorological Department, it is also expected to rain in Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabirnagar, Basti, Ayodhya, Gonda, Barabanki, Lucknow, Sitapur and Hardoi between 8:30 am on July 22 and 23 July 8:30 am. It may also rain in Shahjahanpur, Farrukhabad, Etah, Kasganj, Badayun, Hathras, Mathura, Aligarh, Sambhal, Bulandshahr, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Amroha, Hapur. Along with this, there is a possibility of rain in Ghaziabad, Meerut, Baghpat, Lalitpur, Jhansi, Mahoba, Banda, Chitrakoot, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra.

Along with this, there is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning at some places in western UP and at one or two places in eastern UP on July 23. On July 24, it may rain with thunder and lightning at many places in western and eastern UP.

There is also a possibility of heavy rains at one or two places in western and eastern UP during this period. On July 25, 26 and 27, it is expected to rain with thunder and lightning at almost all places. On July 25 also, there is an alert of heavy rain at one or two places in both the areas.

A depression is expected to develop over the Bay of Bengal around July 24.

The axis of Monsoon trough is passing through Jaisalmer, Kota, Sagar, Raipur, the center of the low pressure area over Odisha, northwest Bay of Bengal and then southeastwards across east-central Bay of Bengal. A low pressure area lies over northwest Bay of Bengal off the coast of Odisha.

An associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level. An east-west shear zone is running along 20°N latitude. A fresh low pressure area is expected to develop over northwest and adjoining west central Bay of Bengal around July 24. The effect of these weather conditions will also be seen in the temperature of Uttar Pradesh.
