From August 21, there is a possibility of rain at almost all places in the state. During this, warnings have been issued for heavy rains and lightning in many places.
Chance of rain in these districts
According to meteorologists, on August 18, there may be rain and thundershowers at some places in western UP, while there is a possibility of rain and thundershowers at many places in eastern UP. During this, there is an alert of lightning and heavy rain at one or two places in the eastern part. On the other hand, there may be moderate to heavy rains in Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Mirzapur, Prayagraj, Sonbhadra and its nearby areas on Friday.
Along with this, there is a possibility of lightning along with thunder in Amethi, Azamgarh, Banda, Chandauli, Fatehpur and Ghazipur districts on August 18. Apart from this, there is a possibility of lightning accompanied by thunder and lightning in Sonbhadra, Sultanpur, Varanasi and its surrounding areas. According to the Meteorological Department, after August 18 in the state, with the movement of this low pressure area towards central India, there may be a partial reduction in rains in the northern part of the state. On the other hand, on August 18, there is a possibility of good rains in the southern Vindhya and Bundelkhand areas of the state. Under its effect, there is a possibility of good rains from August 20 after light to moderate rains till August 19 in the capital Lucknow.
Highest rainfall in Varanasi
According to Mohammad Danish, Senior Scientist of Regional Meteorological Center, Lucknow, during the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall has been recorded in Varanasi, where 17 mm of rain has been recorded. At the same time, three mm of rain has been recorded in Prayagraj. Up to four millimeters of rain has been recorded in Ghazipur. He told that for the time being, cold winds will continue to blow amidst the ups and downs in the weather, due to which people will get relief from the humidity and heat. Light rain is also expected in many districts.
