However, people got relief due to sunshine on Wednesday as compared to Tuesday. On Thursday morning once again the weather took a turn and it rained. Due to this rain, changes in the weather were seen in other areas including the capital Lucknow. Those who went out in the morning seemed troubled by the sudden rain. A drop in temperature has been recorded due to rain in many areas of the state including Lucknow. However, at present a cold wave like situation has not been seen in Lucknow. But, due to this rain the weather has been affected. The rain that started early in the morning continued for more than half an hour and the roads were filled with water. The weather department had expressed the possibility of rain. Similar weather is expected to continue in future also. According to Zonal Meteorological Centre, Lucknow, there is a rainy situation in the state till December 2. There is a possibility of rain and thundershowers in Western UP as well as Eastern UP on December 1. Whereas on December 2, the weather may remain dry in Western UP and rain and thundershowers are expected at one or two places in Eastern UP. This change is being seen due to western disturbance.

Moderate to dense fog is expected

According to the Zonal Meteorological Centre, Lucknow, at present there is no possibility of any major change in the weather. But, due to rain, there may be a drop in temperature. The sequence of sunshine and clouds may continue. Despite this rain, foggy conditions persisted at many places on Thursday. People may have to face problems due to moderate to dense fog in the coming days. Due to cold winds in December, there will be a greater drop in mercury.

Muzaffarnagar is the least cold district

The lowest minimum temperature has been recorded in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. Talking about minimum temperature, fluctuations are being seen in it. The lowest minimum temperature of 10.6 degrees Celsius has been recorded in Muzaffarnagar. The minimum temperature was 13.0 degrees in Ayodhya, 13.6 degrees in Fursatganj, 14.9 degrees in Varanasi BHU, 16.0 degrees in Ballia, Lakhimpur Kheri and Gorakhpur. The minimum temperature recorded was 10.8 degrees in Meerut, 11.0 degrees in Najibabad, 11.8 degrees in Bareilly, 12.4 degrees in Kanpur City and 13.0 degrees in Bahraich. Similarly, a temperature of 14.2 degrees was recorded in Shahjahanpur and 14.0 degrees in Ghazipur.

Trough of western winds is formed here

According to the Meteorological Department, at present the Western Disturbance is in the form of a trough in westerly winds about 5.8 km above sea level from Punjab via Haryana to Delhi. A cyclonic circulation has formed over Sri Lanka and surrounding areas. A low pressure area over South Andaman and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal has transformed into a deep low pressure over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea. It is likely to move in a west-northwest direction and turn into a depression around November 30. Thereafter, during the next 48 hours, it is likely to move north-westwards and turn into a cyclonic storm over south-east Bay of Bengal. A trough is likely to develop in the easterly winds blowing at lower levels from the Southeast Arabian Sea through Kerala to North Maharashtra.
