UP Weather Update: Due to the activeness of monsoon in UP, different situations are being seen. Where there is a danger of flood in the areas of heavy rains, the humid heat after the rains is troubling the people in many places. In the surrounding areas including Lucknow, the sky is partly cloudy since Sunday morning. However, due to the sun coming out, there is a feeling of humid heat.

According to the Zonal Meteorological Center, Lucknow, there is a possibility of heavy rains at different places in the state on Sunday. In about 36 districts, people have been asked to be careful about lightning accompanied by thunder. According to the Meteorological Department, it will continue to rain continuously for a few days in the state. At present, there are chances of rain till July 21.

According to the Meteorological Department, a yellow alert has been issued in Agra, Auraiya, Banda, Chitrakoot, Etawah and Firozabad districts on Sunday. Along with this, there is a possibility of heavy rains in Hamirpur, Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Mahoba, Saharanpur and its surrounding areas.

Along with this, there is a possibility of lightning accompanied by thunder and lightning in Agra, Aligarh, Amroha, Auraiya, Badaun, Baghpat, Banda, Bulandshahr, Chitrakoot, Etah and Etawah on Sunday. There is a possibility of thunder and lightning in Farrukhabad, Fatehpur, Jhansi, Firozabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Hapur, Ghaziabad, Hamirpur, Hathras, Kanpur Nagar, Kannauj, Jalaun.

Along with this, there is a possibility of thunder and lightning in Lalitpur, Mahoba, Mainpuri, Mathura, Meerut, Mirzapur, Prayagraj, Sambhal, Shamli, Sonbhadra, Kanpur Dehat, Kasganj and Kaushambi. According to the Regional Meteorological Center, Lucknow, on July 17, heavy rains are expected at almost all places in Western UP and Eastern UP. There are chances of rain in UP on 18 and 19 July. On the other hand, on July 20 and 21, there is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning at some places in western UP and at one or two places in eastern UP.

According to meteorologists, the western end of the axis of monsoon is moving south from its normal position, the eastern end is north of its normal position. Monsoon trough is passing through Bikaner, Narnaul, Gwalior, Satna, Daltonganj, Digha and then north-eastwards through Northeast Bay of Bengal. A cyclonic circulation is over Haryana and adjoining areas. A cyclonic circulation is over the central parts of South Uttar Pradesh. A cyclonic circulation is expected to develop over northwest Bay of Bengal around 16 July. Under its influence, a low pressure area may develop in the same region in the next 2 to 3 days. A cyclonic circulation is over South Gujarat.

Due to the changed weather conditions, the water level of all the rivers including Ganga, Yamuna and Saryu has started increasing in the state. Due to this, flood situation has started in many districts. In view of this, the state government has also instructed the government machinery to remain alert.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to keep all the arrangements in order to provide relief to the flood affected people. Along with this, in view of the increasing water level of the rivers, it has been asked to keep a special watch on the security of embankments and barrages.

According to the report released by the Central Water Commission, the water level of Ganga and Yamuna is still above the danger mark. Apart from this, the water of the rivers is also increasing in Saryu, Ramganga etc. In view of the increasing threat of floods due to the incessant rains in UP, the government has ordered the SDRF team to be deployed in the flood-affected districts. Both the rivers Ganga and Yamuna are in spate in the state. Instructions have been given to keep SDRF and relief teams ready in the districts related to these two rivers.

Along with Ganga and Yamuna, Saryu is also showing its fierce form in many districts, while on the other hand, the speed of Rapti is also affecting. The water level of Yamuna river in Mathura has crossed the danger mark at Prayag Ghat. Here Yamuna is flowing 40 cm above the danger mark of 166 meters.

Life has become busy due to the ever-increasing water and power supply has been interrupted in many areas. On the other hand, due to water coming on the ghats, the Municipal Corporation has closed the roads. Divers and personnel have been deployed on the banks of the Yamuna for monitoring. The administration is on alert regarding the rising water level of Yamuna. Yamuna has wreaked havoc in areas like Vrindavan, Mathura, Shergarh, Naujheel Mant etc.
