Telangana Government giving 90 percent discount on payment of pending traffic challan
Telangana Government Has announced to give 90% discount on payment of pending traffic challan from December 26, 2023 to January 10, 2024. To avail this offer, vehicle owners will have to check their challan by visiting the Telangana Traffic e-Challan website and pay the concessional amount online.

Under this offer, 90% discount will be given on push carts. Owners will have to pay only 10 percent of the challan amount while the remaining 90 percent will be waived off. The same relaxation has been given for RTC drivers also. For two-wheelers and three-wheelers, 80 percent of the challan amount has been waived. In case of cars, other light motor vehicles and trucks and other heavy motor vehicles, the rebate is 60 percent.
Revenue of Rs 1,200 crore will be received
Under this relaxation, the Telangana government estimates that around two crore challans will be paid, which will generate revenue of around Rs 1,200 crore for the state government. The government’s objective behind this exemption is to encourage people to pay their pending challans and increase the revenue of the state. Apart from this, the government also aims to motivate people to follow traffic rules.
