Kanpur: The first match in the ongoing UPT20 league was played between Kashi Rudras and Lucknow Falcons on Tuesday at Green Park Stadium. Kashi won the toss and decided to bowl. Lucknow team, coming to bat first, lost 9 wickets in 16 overs. After scoring 142 runs, the target of 143 runs was given to Kashi. In reply, Kashi team won the match by 9 wickets by scoring 143 runs at the loss of 1 wicket in 13 9 overs. Atal Bihari, who was the hero of Kashi’s victory, got the man of the match.
Match changed to 16 overs due to bad weather
The weather deteriorated after the toss in the first match at Green Park on Tuesday, due to which the match was converted into 16 overs. The Lucknow team, who came to bat first, had a very good start. Openers Shaurya Singh (52) and Harsh Tyagi (31) gave a good start to Lucknow Falcons. The pair stitched a 50-run partnership in less than five overs. Harsh Tyagi hit two sixes but failed to take advantage of the good start as Bobby Yadav clean bowled him in the sixth over and the score read 62-1. . As the runs decreased, Atal Bihari made a comeback in the last over and dismissed Ali Zafar (31), Vipraj Nigam (4) and Kartikeya Jaiswal (0), which reduced Lucknow’s score to 19 wickets in 16 overs. Kashi Rudras came in reply of 142 runs
In reply to 142 runs, Kashi Rudras scored 46 runs in the first five overs. Out of which 13 runs came as extra. The opening partnership was broken when Nadeem dismissed Arnav Baliyan (12) in the eighth over. With the score at 65-1, Shivam Bansal (33) joined opener and influential batsman Karan Sharma. Who established his dominance with a half-century in 40 balls. In the 12th over, Karan Sharma launched a brutal attack on Kritagya Singh, hitting three consecutive sixes and a four to complete a game-changing over of 23 runs.
