UP News Zero tolerance against criminals in UP, mafia in jail

Lucknow: In UP (UP News), after the formation of BJP government under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath in 2017, a special campaign has been launched against mafias. Be it Prayagraj’s mafia brothers Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf or Mukhtar Ansari (Mukhtar Ansari News), who was threatening in Purvanchal, action has been taken against all of them during the tenure of this government. Mafia Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were murdered while in police custody. Apart from this, his son was killed by the police in an encounter. A similar situation happened with mafia Mukhtar Ansari and his gang.

Mukhtar was brought to Banda from Ropar jail of Punjab.
Mukhtar Ansari (UP News) was brought to UP from Punjab jail by the UP government after a long exercise. Mukhtar was arrested in January 2019 for demanding extortion money of Rs 10 crore from a builder in Mohali. He was kept in Ropar jail. The Supreme Court had to order to bring Mukhtar Ansari to UP. Because the UP government went to take Mukhtar Ansari from Punjab about eight times, but he was returned back every time. After staying in Ropar jail for almost 26 months, Mukhtar was shifted to Banda jail in 2021. Mukhtar was kept under CCTV surveillance 24 hours a day. The government has also suspended a deputy jailer who was soft towards Mukhtar.

Conviction in eight cases in 18 months
If we look at the figures, Mukhtar Ansari (Mukhtar Ansari News) has been in jail since 2005. Mukhtar had to go to jail during the riots in the three-tier elections in Mau. After this, on 29 November 2005, BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai was murdered. From 2005 to 2017, Mukhtar’s jails were also changed along with the governments. But Mukhtar’s bad days started after the coming of Yogi government in UP. After coming to UP from Ropar Jail in Punjab, Mukhtar was sentenced 8 times in different cases in 18 months. In this, he was given rigorous punishment and also fined. A total of 65 cases are registered against Mukhtar Ansari.

Punishment in these cases

-21 September 2022, seven-year sentence and a fine of Rs 37 thousand in the case of assault and intimidation registered in Lucknow Alambagh police station.
-23 September 2022, five years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50 thousand in the case registered under the Gangster Act in Hazratganj police station, Lucknow.
-15 December 2022, 10 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5 lakh in the Gangster Act case registered in Kotwali police station of Ghazipur district.
