Manjeet told on phone that he lived on cashew nuts, raisins, gram, biscuits etc. for 17 days. Food items were sent into the tunnel through four-inch pipes. For this, strong air pressure was given in the pipe from outside, so that the food items could reach us in the tunnel. Manjeet told on phone that all the friends lived as a family in difficult times. Everyone kept encouraging each other. He told that after eating food, he used to quench his thirst by drinking water seeping from a mountain near the tunnel. Whereas, for daily activities he used to go far away in the tunnel. There was a two km long tunnel from where we were stuck. That’s why he used to stroll there in his free time. Manjeet told that earlier they used to shout and talk loudly from inside the tunnel through the pipe. A phone was kept outside the tunnel, through which the voice on the other side would reach us through the pipe and later we would shout and convey our message through the pipe to the phone kept outside the tunnel. Manjeet told that after this, arrangements were made for a microphone, which came into the tunnel through a pipe and then we used to talk to the people and family members engaged in rescue.
