UP News: Wife’s honor sold for Rs 5,000 in Pilibhit, 2 people brutalized her in the house, husband stood at the door

In Pilibhit, UP, a young man traded his wife’s honor with two people for five thousand rupees. Both the buyers took turns in raping the woman in the room at home. When she protested, the husband beat her and threw her out of the house, threatening to divorce her. The woman says that the husband wants to force her into prostitution. On the orders of SP, Sungarhi police has registered a report against the husband and two others. In the complaint given to the police, a woman from Sungarhi area has said that she was married in the year 2018 to a young man from Jehanabad police station area, who is a driver by profession. Shortly after marriage, her husband started harassing her. Used to have unnatural relations with her. If she protested, he would threaten to leave her.

Used to pressurize to have relations with other men

The woman alleges that the husband wants to force her into prostitution. Many times he brought other men. When he protested, he was beaten. On this she came to her mother’s house. After talking to relatives, she again went to her in-laws’ house. It is alleged that on August 8, 2023, at around 11:30 pm, the husband brought two people with him and started pressurizing them to have a relationship. The husband took Rs 2500 each from both of them and locked her in a room with them and himself sat at the door to keep watch. After this, both the youth took turns and raped her. They also attacked the protestors. She became unconscious during the incident. After regaining consciousness, she went to the police station, but the police did not take action. On the orders of the SP, the police have now registered a report against three people including the husband and handed over the investigation of the case to Crime Inspector Gajendra Singh.

Police prevented this by citing family dispute

The victim told that her husband was trying to earn money by making her do wrong work, against which she was continuously opposing. Even on the day of the incident, when she protested, the accused husband beat her. He also threatened that if she did not do so, he would divorce her. According to the victim, after the incident she took a complaint to Sungarhi police station, but the police did not listen. Police said that this is a dispute between husband and wife, on which direct action cannot be taken. Then the victim appealed to the SP for justice. Action was taken against the accused on the orders of SP.
