But in order to ensure peaceful conduct of assembly, Lok Sabha, municipal body and village head elections, a campaign was run by the police and arms licenses were deposited in the police stations. Notices were sent to those who did not deposit. Solid reasons for not surrendering their weapons have also been taken in writing. The elections are over. After this, the police sent notices to the licensees to clean the warehouses, but there are more than a thousand people who did not come to get the weapons again. Now those same weapons are gathering dust in the warehouses of police stations. Uniformed people are protecting these weapons but the licensees are not ready to take them. Even after giving notice several times, there are a thousand weapons whose owners did not come to collect them. Fed up with this, the police has sent a report to the DM to cancel one thousand arms licenses.

Police investigation has revealed that six hundred license holders have died in the district. There are some cases in which disputes are going on due to having two or more sons. Due to which they are not able to decide which brother will take the weapon or the sons are not fond of keeping weapons. In some cases, it has also come to light that due to frequent elections, weapons have to be kept in police stations. Because of which they are not picking them up from the police stations. Not one or two but many elections have passed but still people are not coming to get weapons. Despite several notices given by the police, no one came. A report has been sent by the SSP to the DM to cancel the licenses of one thousand weapons. SSP Hemraj Meena said that a list was prepared of those people who have not recovered their weapons after depositing them in the police stations. Investigation has revealed that there are some people who had deposited weapons in the police station during the elections but after a few days they have gone abroad. Information was sent through his family members. Despite this he did not come to collect his weapon. After this, the report has been sent to the district administration for cancellation of his license.

These are the only two police stations in the district like this. All the licensees in whose area have taken away their weapons from the police stations. SSP Hemraj Meena said that there are 21277 licensed weapons in the district. Licensed weapons are deposited during elections. There are more than a thousand such weapons whose license holders are not coming to the police station to collect them. A report has been sent to the district administration to cancel first 450 and now 550 arms licenses.
