UP News: Tourists will be able to tour Agra by bicycle, bicycle sharing project launched

Agra. Bicycle sharing project is going to be started in Agra for environmental protection. Tourists will be able to roam around the city by taking bicycles on rent. This facility will be started for the tourists as well as the common people of the city. About 100 cycle stands will be built in Agra city. About one thousand bicycles will be made available. Let us tell you that under the Smart City Project, a new initiative is being started in Agra for environmental protection. Smart City General Manager Arun Kumar said that there will be three types of membership in this project. For which rent will have to be paid for one thousand rupees for one year, Rs 300 for 3 months and Rs 150 for one month. With the public bicycle sharing project, tourists and common people will be able to go to the city’s major monuments, religious places, railway and bus stands as well as offices and markets.

According to General Manager Smart City, 10 to 12 cycles will be provided at each stand. In which the stands will be built in the first phase. The facility will be started here with 200 cycles. Then the number of cycle stands and bus stands will be increased. For this, Smart City has also created a mobile app. Rent can be paid through the app. The bicycle will be equipped with GPS. Which will be monitored from the control room of the smart city. Earlier, the country’s first cycle highway was built in Agra. Which was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on 26 November 2016. This cycle track was built from Dhandhupura in Agra to Etawah. Whose length was about 207 kilometers. On which about Rs 133 crore was spent. And about 92 villages fall during this track. But now this cycle track has become a victim of encroachment.
