UP News: To arrest Mahant’s killer, woman attempted self-immolation, assaulted policemen

Aligarh: Protests are increasing demanding the arrest of the killer of Mahant Yogesh Nath. On Tuesday, there was a huge uproar over the burning of the effigy of the city’s BJP MLA and the self-immolation of a woman. During this, BJP MLA Mukta Raja was also accused of saving the accused. The women created a ruckus at the Sasni police station gate itself. During this, the female constable was pushed and fell. There was indecency and scuffle with police personnel. The female policeman was stopping a woman from committing suicide. During this, people burnt the effigy of BJP MLA Mukt Raja and raised slogans.

Demand for arrest of accused in Mahant Yogesh Nath murder case

Mahant Yogesh Nath died under suspicious circumstances 3 months ago. Due to which there is anger in the Kori society. A society has been protesting continuously since October 7 and is demanding the arrest of former councilor Sanjay Sharma and other accused. The people protesting on Tuesday became furious. During this time, a woman tried to commit suicide by taking a petrol pump. Which was stopped by the female constable. On which a young man who was protesting pushed him and made him fall. After this there was pushing and scuffling with the policemen.

Killers accused of saving BJP city MLA

Nathu Singh, who was protesting, said that people of Kori community have been protesting for the last 2 months to arrest the killer of Mahant Yogesh Nath. In which the accused are associated with BJP. Nathu Singh told that in the incident, the accused Sanjay Sharma was caught by the police, but after 2 hours, city BJP MLA Mukta Raja came and rescued him. Natthu Singh said that Mukt Raja became MLA after getting the votes of our society and our colleagues are doing injustice.

BJP city MLA’s effigy burnt

Rohit, son of Mahant Yogesh Nath, said that the effigy of city MLA Mukta Raja has been burnt because two days ago, when he had staged a protest at Sasni Gate police station, it was promised that the accused would be arrested. In which Sanjay Sharma was released from the police station after being arrested. Rohit told that he left the police under pressure from the city MLA. At the same time, the Kori community has said that the MLA will be boycotted and his effigy will be burnt at various places. An attempt was also made to burn the effigy of city MLA Mukta Raja in front of Sasni police station gate, but the police snatched the effigy. Area Officer Pratham Abhay Kumar said that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
