UP News: Satyapal, retired from the post of driver in the Indian Army, started cheating by posing as a colonel, caught by UP STF

Lucknow: Satyapal Singh, who cheated by posing as an Army Colonel, has been arrested by UP STF from Meerut. When UP STF arrested him, he was wearing the uniform of a colonel rank officer in the Army Medical Corps. Satyapal Singh had cheated Rs 16 lakh from his brother and sister in the name of recruitment in the Indian Army. He had also handed over a fake joining letter. Satyapal Singh retired as a driver in the Indian Army in 2003. After this he started cheating.

The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested a fake colonel, who duped the youth in the name of joining the army. He was arrested by STF Meerut Field Unit on the input of Military Intelligence. Accused Satyapal Singh Yadav is retired from the post of driver in the army. He used to trap the youth by putting plates in the name of Colonel DS Chauhan.

Five joining letters, stamp, printer, colonel’s uniform recovered

Five joining letters, five stamps, a printer, a colonel’s uniform and a fake identity card have been recovered from accused Satyapal Singh Yadav. He has defrauded the youth of many states of crores of rupees. A report has been lodged against the accused at Ganganagar police station in Meerut. STF SP Brijesh Singh said that Satyapal Singh Yadav, son of Karan Singh, resident of Kaserubuxar, Ganganagar, used to drive the car of Colonel DS Chauhan posted in Pune. After retirement, Satyapal Singh got a plate in the name of Colonel DS Chauhan. Dressed in a colonel’s uniform and also prepared a fake photo ID.

Used to get fake joining letter prepared from son

Accused Satyapal Singh Yadav started cheating the youth who wanted to join the army. He gave his name as Colonel DS Chauhan and said that he was posted in Pune. Not only this, the accused took huge amount of money from many youth and also gave them fake appointment letters. In the last seven years, he cheated many youth and embezzled crores of rupees. The accused said that during these years he cheated hundreds of youth from UP, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab etc. During police interrogation, it was revealed that Satyapal’s son Rajat alias Devendra used to print fake joining letters by typing them on his laptop and then speed-post those letters from different places.
