UP News: License of private hospital which does not inform about the death of mother and her newborn will be cancelled.

Agra : The availability of biomedical equipment and medicines was reviewed in the committee meeting chaired by DM Bhanuchandra Goswami in the Collectorate auditorium. In which it was decided that private hospitals will now have to give information about maternal and child deaths. Private hospitals that do not provide information will be investigated and their registration will be cancelled. Explanation has also been sought from 5 MOICs which did not perform well in SNCV. Salary will not be released if less than 95% target is achieved. Along with this, it was told in the meeting that two oxygen generators, one E-ray machine etc. are out of order. CMO Dr. Arun Srivastava said that their details will be removed from the portal and a new machine will be purchased soon. Janani Suraksha Yojana was reviewed in the meeting. In which a decline was recorded in deliveries in development block Khandauli. A reply was also sought on the decline in the number of deliveries facilitated by ASHAs. In the meeting, personal responsibility of MOIC was fixed to secure the monthly payment of ASHA, Link Workers etc. DM has given instructions to take strict action against non-paying MOIC. Instructions have also been given to give the remaining pending payment for the month of November and by 20th December.

DM gave instructions to monitor doctors

It was told in the meeting that Asha has not been active for the last 6 months, action should be taken to terminate her service by giving her 15 days’ notice of termination and appointing a new person in her place. In the review of cesarean case, the situation was not found satisfactory. In November, 0 caesarean cases were done in CHC Kheragarh, 05 in Bah, 07 in Achhnera, 02 in Shamsabad, 01 in Etmadpur, 127 in District Women’s Hospital, 275 in SN Medical College. The DM said that if during investigation, Asha and ANM are found to be conducting deliveries in private hospitals, then strict action will be taken. The entire vaccination was reviewed in the meeting. It was told that parents in various areas are not taking interest in vaccination of children. The DM directed to form a team of district level officers for counseling such families and to identify those who did not get vaccinated and to take action to deny them the benefits of other government schemes. Only 02 maternal deaths were recorded in the month of November in the district. All MOICs and ASHAs were instructed for intensive monitoring.

05 MOIC reply sought

Instructions were given to seek clarification from MOIC of 05 MOIC Khandauli, Kheragarh, Shamsabad, Bah, Barauli Ahir who were not performing well in SNCV (Sick Newborn Care Unit). In the meeting, instructions were given to identify malnourished children at Anganwadi centres. In the meeting CDO A. Manikandan, District Immunization Officer Dr. Sanjeev Varman, DPM Kuldeep Bhardwaj, Mahima from WHO, Arvind Sharma from UNICEF, Rahul Kulshrestha etc. were present.
