UP News: Inspector’s corruption in Bareilly exposed in front of SSP, suspended for demanding bribe in bank account

Bareilly News: A sub-inspector posted at Aliganj police station in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, demanded bribe from a person in the name of disposal of a fake complaint. The person said that he had no money. On this the inspector asked to deposit the bribe in the bank account. Instead of depositing the bribe in the account, the victim complained to the SSP. The SSP asked questions to the Inspector, but he could not answer. After this, he has been suspended and investigation into the matter has been started. It is being told that a person from Aliganj police station area appeared before the SSP and told that a fake complaint was made in the Women and Human Rights Commission. In return for its disposal, a bribe of Rs 30 thousand was demanded. An account number was also given to withdraw this amount into one’s bank account. A complaint was made to the SSP during the public hearing. The Senior Superintendent of Police sought answers from the Inspector in the bribery case in a video conference, but he could not give it. After this, the accused Inspector was suspended and the investigation was handed over to the CO of Bahedi Circle.

In this case of Bareilly, the complainant told that some time ago a youth from the same village had complained about smack smuggling. After this the young man started harboring grudges. The victim told that the youth took a fake SIM in the name of her daughter and lodged a complaint against her in the Women’s Commission and the Human Rights Commission. On this he brought his daughter from Jharkhand. After this CO Amla started investigating the complaints against him. His daughter gave complete information to the CO and he told that no complaint was made. On November 25, he had filed a report at Aliganj police station against three-four unknown people including Suraj Verma, Hem Singh.

Inspector accused of threatening

The villager told that his case is being investigated by Inspector Rajkumar Singh. Accused the inspector of threatening. He said that if he does not go to Lucknow and get the complaint resolved in the Commission, then action will be taken against him. The inspector demanded a bribe of Rs 30 thousand in return. Met him at a restaurant and put pressure on him. He told about not having money. On this the inspector gave his bank account number. Said, put money in this account. Apart from this, Rs 2000 was also taken in the name of water expenditure, due to which the SSP, after hearing the complaint during the public hearing, got information regarding the Inspector from Aliganj SSO Ajay Kumar Shukla. SSP summoned the Inspector online itself. The inspector was shocked by this. After this, the accused inspector has been suspended and investigation has been started.

Case filed against two secretaries who provided accommodation to ineligible people

A big game has come to light in the allotment of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Bhadpura development block of Bareilly Dehat. Houses were constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the years 2021-22 and 2022-23 in Gram Panchayat Bahoria, Margapur Margaiya, and its Majra Barsia of the development block. Out of these, a case of distribution of letters to 10 housing applicants has come to light. After investigation in this case, the role of Gram Panchayat Development Officer Raju Singh and Vishal Kumar was found suspicious. After this, Block Development Officer Bhagwan Das has lodged an FIR against both of them in Kyoladiya police station.
