Kanpur: The Police Commissioner has suspended station in-charge Vinay Sharma (Kakadev) for threatening Inspector Nawabganj for raising the issue of drug smuggling to Kakadev police station incharge’s Karkhas officer. Along with suspension, a departmental inquiry has also been instituted. Whereas Karkhas has been spared by the police officers. This action has been taken on the basis of the report of ADCP Central.
In fact, on last Sunday night, Nawabganj police station in-charge Rohit Tiwari along with the police team had caught ganja smugglers Saurabh and Vinod near the double culvert in Kakadev police station area. When the police searched Vinod’s mobile phone, they found the number of Inspector Kakadev Vinay Sharma’s Karkhas Mayank, with whom he was in contact. During interrogation, the smuggler told that he supplies ganja in the area only with the knowledge of Mayank. In return he also gives him a huge amount. Meanwhile, the family members of the smugglers reached Kakadev police station and informed about the incident.
Angered by this, Inspector Kakadev Vinay Sharma called Inspector Nawabganj Rohit Tiwari and threatened him. Whose information was given by Rohit Tiwari to DCP Central Pramod Kumar. After this the DCP handed over the investigation to Additional DCP Central Aarti Singh. DCP Central Pramod Kumar said that the Police Commissioner has suspended Inspector Kakadev after Additional DCP Aarti Singh was found guilty in the preliminary investigation. Along with this, a departmental inquiry has also been instituted against him.
Conversation through WhatsApp calling
In this case, the Additional DCP not only recorded the statements of both the inspectors but also talked to them and listened to the audio. At the same time, call details of smugglers’ mobiles were also scrutinized. In which the smuggler’s conversation with Karkhas through WhatsApp calling has also been confirmed. According to police sources, soon other policemen including Karkhas posted at Kakadev police station may also be punished.
