Kanpur: IIT Kanpur is going to prepare experts as per the needs of the future. The institute is starting e-Masters degree course in Next Generation Wireless Technologies. You can apply online for admission till 31st October. GATE score is not mandatory for admission to the course. The Department of Electrical Engineering has designed this course. This course will have to be completed between one to three years. This comprehensive program will train professionals in equipment and device technology, helping to provide expertise in voice, data and multimedia information. Professionals will also receive training in the design, operation, installation and practice of next generation wireless technology to meet various industry requirements.
GATE score is not required to apply for this course. Additionally, it allows participants to complete the program in 1-3 years. The program is taught by IIT Kanpur’s world-class faculty and researchers through self-learning through weekend-only live interactive classes. The program has been designed to address the advent of modern digital next generation wireless technologies. Which has created a dire need for a highly skilled workforce.

Many countries are successfully using 5G and are preparing for the next big 6G telecommunications wave. Indian industry has lagged behind due to lack of talent, lack of capital and progress roadmap. Today India needs skilled professionals equipped with communication and related technologies. Only those professionals who can design, build and deploy modern digital next generation wireless technologies will remain relevant and fit for the future. This course is designed with core modules such as Wireless Communications, Probability and Random Processes, Applied Linear Algebra for Wireless Communications and Digital Communication Systems.

The program consists of a 60-credit, 12-module industry-focused curriculum. It also provides access to the placement cell, incubation cell and alumni network at IIT Kanpur. Which leads to successful career advancement and networking experience. The immersive learning format allows professionals to visit the IIT Kanpur campus to meet distinguished faculty and network with experienced professionals. Additionally, professionals enrolling in the eMasters degree program will gain multidisciplinary expertise to shape and build the country’s communications future.
After completing four successful cycles of enrolment, the program is receiving a large number of applications for the new batch. Over 600 professionals have already completed the academic requirements for e-Masters degree programs from IIT Kanpur. The first batch of graduates received their degrees during the 56th Convocation of IIT Kanpur. Applications for the new batch starting from January 2024 are open till 31 October 2023.
