UP News: Gorakhpur Development Authority will handover 12 colonies to Municipal Corporation in December, proposal ready.

Gorakhpur: The process of handing over 12 colonies located in the Planetarium area of ​​Gorakhpur Development Authority is going on in the final stage. The Municipal Corporation will rectify the deficiencies related to these colonies and street lights. For this, a proposal of about Rs 30 crore has been prepared by the Municipal Corporation. Gorakhpur Development Authority is ready to give this amount. GDA has issued tender for works like roads, drains etc. in some colonies. After deducting the amounts for these works, the authority will hand over the remaining amount to the Municipal Corporation. Along with rectifying the identified deficiencies in the colonies, as per the guidelines, the expenses for its maintenance for one month will be charged from the Gorakhpur Development Authority. A proposal of about Rs 30 crore has been prepared for this. GDA has also given approval for giving the funds. Soon the process of handover of colonies will be completed. GDA Vice President Anand Vardhan Singh says that the process of handing over the colony will be completed in 10 to 15 days.

Verification work completed for transfer of colony

Following the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to soon transfer the GDA colony to the Municipal Corporation, efforts have been going on in this direction for about two and a half months. Which is now in the final stages. The joint team of the Authority and the Municipal Corporation has also done the verification. GDA Vice President Anand Vardhan Singh said that the verification work for the transfer of the colony has almost been completed. The Municipal Corporation has verbally demanded funds to rectify some deficiencies. The authority has floated tender for the works in the concerned colony. After deducting his amount, the remaining amount will be handed over soon. And it will be handed over in 10 to 15 days. This week, the Chief Engineer of Gorakhpur Development Authority and the Municipal Corporation will inspect this colony for the last time. The authority had also started the effort to transfer the colony in June 2020. But the Municipal Corporation has approved the transfer of Budh Vihar Part A, B and C, Amrapali Yojana. The Amravati scheme was refused citing it being out of bounds. Now these colonies are also within the limits of the corporation. The way has been opened for their transfer also.
