UP News: Ghaziabad constable suspended for beating a person on the road while in uniform

Lucknow. The Ghaziabad police suspended a police constable on Wednesday. A case was registered against him after a viral video. The video purportedly shows him in uniform beating a man mercilessly on the road. The accused constable, identified as Rinku Rajoura, is posted at Madhuban Bapudham police station in Ghaziabad district. Police said that Rajoura was seen attacking a person in front of the public on Tuesday. Its video was made viral by someone on social media.

Police constable booked under section 323

Ghaziabad’s ACP Kavinagar Abhishek Srivastava said, “The victim is yet to be identified, we are looking for him.” He said that a departmental inquiry will be ordered into the alleged incident. The ACP said that “a viral video has been received through social media, in which a policeman is seen beating up a person. After examining the said video, it was found that the matter pertains to Kavi Nagar police station area. A case is being registered under relevant sections. Based on the video, Rinku Rajoura, a suspended police constable, was booked under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
