UP News: Finance controller of Lebua Hotel Lucknow kept Rs 20.70 lakh with himself instead of the bank, company lodged FIR

Bareilly : The former finance controller of Hotel Lebua (Unit of Khwab Resort Pvt. Ltd.) in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, has been accused of embezzlement of Rs 20.70 lakh. An FIR has been lodged against the accused in Bareilly police station on Sunday. After this the police has started investigation in the matter. In the FIR, Hotel Licensing Manager Punit Goyal said that Saurabh Chopra, resident of Bareilly Civil Lines, was working as Finance Controller in Hotel Lebua from 2020 to February 2021. Whatever payment was made in cash in the hotel was given to Saurabh, because it was the responsibility of Sauram Chopra to deposit it in the bank account, but instead of depositing the money in the bank, he kept it with himself by falsifying the accounts, and Committed embezzlement. 2 years ago in February 2021, Saurabh Chopra resigned and came to Bareilly. After this, the accounts were investigated and a fraud of Rs 20,78,800 was found. When the company contacted Saurabh, he told about the fraud. Accepted and also asked for some time to return the money.

The amount was not returned even after giving an affidavit to return the hotel’s money.

Accused Saurabh Chopra had given a notarized affidavit (affidavit) in the Bareilly court on 09 July 2021 to return the money. After this, when the money was asked for, he started threatening. On opposing this, he said that a fake case would be filed. Bareilly Kotwali police has registered an FIR against the accused and started investigation.

Threat of FIR against hotel management

Licensing Manager of the hotel, Puneet Goyal, said that the amount was demanded back from the accused as per the affidavit. On this, the accused started threatening to file an FIR against the hotel management itself. Kotwal Inspector DK Sharma said that according to the complaint, an FIR has been registered against the accused. It has been done. After this investigation is being done.
