Aligarh: For establishing Greater Aligarh Township near Jewar Airport, the process of land purchase has been expedited on the basis of mutual agreement with the farmers. In view of the protest of the farmers, the district administration has increased the amount of compensation. Now the farmer whose land will be purchased will be given four times more compensation than the current circle rate. District Magistrate Indra Vikram Singh has given its approval by holding a meeting. The District Magistrate held a meeting with the Aligarh Development Authority in the Collectorate Auditorium and took this decision in the approval committee for purchasing land on the basis of mutual consent. The Panchayat was against giving land for It was announced not to give fertile land.

323 hectares of land is to be purchased

Farmers held a mahapanchayat in Atalpur and announced not to give land for the construction of Greater Aligarh City. A total of 323 hectares of land is to be purchased for Greater Aligarh Township. Land acquisition is to be done in nine villages for this land. Some farmers had informed the administration about their intention that barren and barren land should be selected by the Aligarh Development Authority for setting up Greater Aligarh city. Farmers do not agree to sell their fertile agricultural land in favor of Aligarh Development Authority under any circumstance.

More than 225 farmers gave consent

Aligarh Development Authority’s Vice President Atul Vats told the District Magistrate regarding the fixation of land rates that by acquiring the land of villages Atalpur, Moosepur, Jirauli, Jirauli Dor, Ahmedabad, Jatanpur, Chikavati, Lohsara, Bisawan, Rustampur Akhan, Greater Aligarh Township is to be developed. A total of 323 hectares of land is to be purchased from 812 farmers of nine villages. More than 225 farmers have given their consent, the process of taking consent from other farmers is going on.

We don’t want to give land: Farmer Anand

At the same time, farmer Anand Pratap Singh, a resident of Atalpur, told that the Aligarh Development Authority wants to acquire the land of the farmers to set up the Greater Aligarh city. We do not want to give our land at any cost. Whether he gives one crore bigha or 10 crore bigha. Farmer Anand Pratap said that we will not give the land at any cost. If we give the land to the Authority then what will we leave for our children.
