UP News: Diwali celebrated in these villages of UP, workers of Uttarkashi Tunnel accident welcomed by performing Aarti

Lucknow: When the UP workers trapped in the Silkyara Tunnel of Uttarakhand reached their homes after meeting Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Diwali was celebrated in the villages. These workers also looked very happy to be among their own people. Overwhelmed by the welcome of the people, these workers even forgot the problems they faced while being stuck in the tunnel. The state government had made arrangements to send these people to their homes. When six laborers from Shravasti reached their village, people expressed happiness by bursting crackers. After meeting Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, everyone reached their village Motipur Kalan. As soon as the bus full of workers reached the village, people surrounded it. Everyone wanted to meet him first. The tears of the family members were not stopping. When the mothers of the workers hugged them and started crying, the children’s happiness knew no bounds. The father, who was desperate to see his sons safe while stuck in the tunnel, also looked very emotional. Seeing their husbands safe in front of their eyes, women were seen thanking God. Such emotional moments were seen among every family. The workers also looked very happy after reaching among the family members. His brothers and friends welcomed him with hugs as if they had met him after many years.

Welcomed with colors and firecrackers

All these workers of Uttar Pradesh were trapped in the tunnel on the day of Diwali. In such a situation, the people of the entire village did not celebrate Diwali with worry. After this, when the workers reached the village, the houses sparkled with lights. There was an atmosphere of Diwali everywhere. The workers were welcomed in the village with colors and firecrackers. Despite there being electricity in the entire village, the light of the lamp seemed more intense. People were seen dancing to the tunes of DJ at many places in the village. People also celebrated the festival of Bhaidooj. This festival was not celebrated in the village because the brothers were trapped in the tunnel. Now, as soon as he returned, Diwali and Bhaidooj were celebrated together.

I thought there would be no luck in returning home.

These workers told that after getting stuck in the tunnel, they felt that they would not be able to reach home now. But, this was possible due to everyone’s efforts. Prime Minister Narendra Modi left no stone unturned. We continued to get food, water and oxygen. Constant communication was maintained with us. CM Yogi Adityanath sent an officer from the laborer districts, this helped a lot. Regarding the safe and convenient return of the workers to their homes, State Coordinator Arun Kumar Mishra said that on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh government, we had received the responsibility of bringing the workers back to their villages safely. We have now completed it. This feels very good. Today, when the workers met their loved ones for the first time after the tunnel accident, everyone became emotional. The family members looked very happy to see him safe.

Manjeet’s mother welcomed her by performing aarti, villagers celebrated

When Manjeet, a resident of Lakhimpur Kheri, reached his home in Bhairampur village after being trapped in the tunnel, his tears were not stopping. As soon as Manjeet reached home in the government vehicle, he touched his mother’s feet and took blessings. After applying turmeric and sandalwood tilak, mother also performed aarti for Manjeet and then welcomed her by garlanding her. Manjeet’s mother said that after the death of her elder son Deepu one and a half years ago, now Manjeet is her only support. During this time, Manjeet’s house was buzzing with all the family members, relatives and villagers. With the cooperation of the village and other family members, a festive atmosphere was seen at home.

Manjeet’s mother and two sisters decorated the entire house, lit lamps and celebrated Diwali. While both of Manjeet’s sisters smeared the house with cow dung and decorated rangoli in the courtyard, a friend of Manjeet got a tent put up outside the house and arranged for chairs etc. Manjeet’s mother Chaudharain told that there were arrangements to prepare rice and vegetables at home in the morning. But, later with everyone’s cooperation, arrangements were made for puri-sabzi and dal-rice. Everyone has blessings.

CM Yogi saluted the spirit

Before this, these workers went to the CM residence in the capital Lucknow and met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. During this, the Chief Minister learned from him the circumstances during which he was stuck in the tunnel and praised his courage. CM Yogi expressed happiness over all the workers coming out safe and sound. During the meeting with the Chief Minister, the workers told about their circumstances while being stuck in the tunnel, how they were waiting for the road to open and were rallying together to encourage their people. The workers expressed gratitude to everyone for the efforts being made to get them out. He expressed happiness over Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and other senior officials continuously worrying about him and making new efforts to get him out and inquire about his well being. During this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath covered all the workers with shawls and provided gifts and wished them to remain healthy.
