Lucknow: After the completion of the hearing in the cases registered against Mukhtar Ansari, now the process of sentencing one after the other has started. After being sentenced to 10 years in a gangster case in the past, now in another case under the Gangster Act. Mukhtar Ansari can be sentenced on Saturday. The verdict was earlier to be pronounced on April 27. But the MP MLA court had fixed May 6 as the date for sentencing in this case. Mukhtar Ansari is the main accused in Kapil Dev Singh’s murder case.

Name added during investigation in Muhammadabad police station

Mukhtar Ansari’s lawyer Liaquat Ali said that in 2009, a case under section 307 was filed by Veer Hasan in Muhammadabad police station. Mukhtar Ansari was not a named accused in this. Mukhtar’s name was added to 120 B during deliberations. The main accused in the case was Sonu Yadav. In this case, the arguments of both the sides were completed and he has been acquitted in this case.

Kapil Dev murder case happened in Ghazipur in 2010

According to Liaquat Ali, there was another case of murder, in which Kapil Dev Singh was killed in the year 2010 in Suapur of Karanda police station area. Liaquat Ali alleges that Mukhtar Ansari was in jail at the time of Kapil Dev Singh. But, a case was also registered against him under 120B in a fraudulent manner. He told that Mukhtar Ansari has been acquitted in the 302 case and in the 307 case also the main accused Sonu Yadav has been acquitted. A gang chart was made by adding both these cases, in which the debate has been completed. Now the decision will come.

Convicted in four cases so far while in jail

Mukhtar Ansari has been convicted in four cases between 22 September 2022 and 29 April 2023. The first sentence was given on 22 September 2022 by the Lucknow bench of the High Court. In this case, Mukhtar was sentenced to seven years for assaulting and threatening the jailer posted in Lucknow. After this, on September 23, Justice DK Singh’s bench in the Lucknow bench of the High Court sentenced Mukhtar Ansari to five years in the Gangster Act case.

Apart from this, Uday Shankar Jaiswal, who was Additional SP in Ghazipur, was attacked with the intention of killing him. In this case, on 15 December 2022, Mukhtar Ansari and his accomplice Bhim Singh were sentenced to 10 years. On the other hand, the fourth case was of the Gangster Act, in which on April 29, the court sentenced Mukhtar Ansari to 10 years and his brother Afzal Ansari to four years. Mukhtar Ansari is currently lodged in Banda Jail.

Mukhtar Ansari is behind bars for 18 years

Till now many cases of murder have been registered against Mukhtar while in jail in various police stations of Ghazipur, Varanasi, Mau and Azamgarh. Thus, a total of 61 cases are registered against Mukhtar Ansari, who is about 60 years old. Most of these cases are registered in his home district Ghazipur. In January, the 61st case was registered in the Usri Chatti murder case in Muhammadabad police station area of ​​his home district.
