UP News: Daughters will be protected through the third eye, CCTV cameras installed at the entry exit point of school and college.

Lucknow: Under the Safe City Project, the UP government has equipped the entry and exit points of 17 municipal corporations of the state and government, non-government schools, colleges, madrassas, universities of Gautam Buddha Nagar with CCTV. Private coaching institutes of these cities are also being monitored with a third eye. Yogi government has taken this decision to stop the incidents of gathering of anarchists and eve-teasing outside these institutions. A guideline has also been issued by the Yogi government regarding the safety of daughters in private coaching institutes.

The UP government has identified 17 municipal corporations and 2500 schools of Gautam Buddha Nagar to be equipped with CCTV under the Safe City Project. Out of these, CCTVs are being installed in 1692 schools, while the work of installing them in the remaining schools is going on war footing. 26,568 CCTVs have been installed in these institutions. These include 68 recognized government schools, 646 aided schools and 1786 unaided schools.

CCTVs have been installed in classrooms, corridors, entry and exit gates of these schools. Under the project, 5,505 cameras were installed in 162 higher educational institutions. These include 21 state degree/PG colleges, 85 aided degree/PG colleges, 49 unaided degree/PG colleges and 7 state universities. This does not include regional office Lucknow and colleges under Lucknow University.

Will be integrated with smart city control room

Under the Guide Line Project issued for coaching institutes regarding the safety of girls, 17 Municipal Corporations and 606 coaching institutes of Gautam Buddha Nagar have been identified for installation of CCTV. These include 448 coaching institutes of 17 Municipal Corporations and 158 coaching institutes of Gautam Buddha Nagar. 866 cameras have been installed in 418 coaching institutes, while the process of installing cameras is going on in the remaining 188 coaching institutes. These CCTV cameras are being integrated with the control room of the smart city by the Urban Development Department.

Strong arrangements for the safety of girls

Apart from this, a guideline was issued by the Yogi government regarding concrete arrangements for the safety of girls, in which the coaching institutes have been assigned the responsibility of ensuring the safety of the girls from the time of their arrival and departure. In the guide line, instructions have been given to the coaching institutes not to conduct classes for girls after a certain time in the evening, so that the girls can reach their homes on time. There are often incidents of fire in coaching institutes, to deal with which, instructions have been given in the guidelines to ensure operation of the coaching institute in a safe building along with adequate security arrangements regarding fire.
