UP News: CM Yogi reached ground zero among flood victims, also conducted aerial and ground survey

Saharanpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inquired about the flood situation in western Uttar Pradesh on Friday. After landing at ground zero, he first reached the market complex of Sultanpur-Chilkana town. There he distributed relief material and assistance to the flood victims. The officials were directed to provide all possible help to the flood victims. Also assured the flood victims that the government is with them in every way.

There will be a survey of damage to crops, the government will provide financial assistance

CM Yogi then reached the flood relief camp located at GV Jain Degree College. There he interacted with the flood victims. He said that we will conduct a survey of the farmers whose crops have been damaged and will immediately provide financial assistance. The fields which have been damaged due to the erosion of the rivers, will be repaired as soon as the flood recedes. Relief camps have been set up for the flood victims and people affected by the disaster. The government is making arrangements for food, health and pure drinking water for the flood victims.

2.75 lakh population affected

Talking to the media, Chief Minister Yogi told that cases of flood and water logging have come to the fore in some districts of western UP. Aerial and ground inspection of flood and water logging in Yamuna, Hindon, Dhanola and Pavdhoni rivers has been done. A total population of 1.5 lakh in 28 localities of Saharanpur city and 118 villages in rural areas has been affected. 13 thousand acres of agricultural land has come under the grip of flood. Seven casualties and three animal losses have also taken place. Arrangements have been made for compensation and tarpaulin for the houses which have been damaged. All concerned departments have also been alerted.

Pandhoi and Dhamola river overflowing, flood victims shifted

The Pavandhoi and Dhamola rivers flowing through the middle of Saharanpur city are in spate. After which a control room was immediately set up by the administration and NDRF teams rescued the people. Although water has gone into people’s homes. These victims have been shifted to relief camps. A camp has been set up at JV Jain Degree College in Awas Vikas Colony. On reaching where the Chief Minister met the flood victims.

Arrangement from morning breakfast to dinner in relief camps

In a meeting with public representatives and administrative officers at the Police Line Auditorium, CM Yogi asked to ensure arrangements for the accommodation and food of the flood victims. Instructions were given that arrangements for breakfast, lunch and dinner should be kept in order. Children also got bread, milk, biscuits regularly. Treatment should also be done if needed.

The CM distributed 10 kg potatoes, 10 kg flour, 10 kg rice, 2 kg Arhar dal, 1 kg salt, turmeric, coriander, milk, refined oil, gram, jaggery, matchbox, biscuits and for women to the people living in the relief camps. Instructed the officers to distribute Dignity Kits.

There should be adequate arrangements for anti-venom, anti-rabies injections.

The Chief Minister instructed the mobile medical teams to be fully active and round the clock in the flood affected areas. He said that doctors and mobile medical teams in relief camps should have anti-venom, anti-rabies and anti-bite injections of all kinds of poisonous animals. Police patrolling should be increased in flood affected and flood relief camps. In case of loss of animals due to disease in flood-affected areas, financial assistance should be made available to the animal rearers. There should be proper cleanliness and lighting in the relief camps.

The Chief Minister asked the officials to carry out cleaning operations on a war footing in the affected areas after the flood waters receded. So that infectious diseases do not spread in these areas. He also directed to repair the roads and streets which were damaged due to floods. During this State Water Power Minister Swatantradev Singh, Deoband MLA and Minister Kunwar Brijesh Singh, MLA Kirat Singh, Dr. Dinesh Chandra, SSP Vipin Tada were present.

Flower showers on Kanwariyas in Saharanpur on Saturday

CM Yogi said that the government is committed to helping the flood victims as well as respecting faith. The CM directed the officers to take care of the safety and convenience of the Kanwariyas. CM Yogi directed the officials to shower flowers on Kanwariyas in Saharanpur by helicopter on Saturday. He told that flowers have been showered on Kanwariyas in Meerut, Muzaffarnagar and Shamli on Friday.
