The Dalit girl who was thrown into the cauldron of a crusher in Dhanaura Silvernagar of Baghpat in UP has been admitted to Begrajpur Medical College in Muzaffarnagar. Azad Samaj Party chief Chandrashekhar Azad arrived to know the condition of the victim, where he met the girl and her family and assured her of all possible help. He also demanded action against all the accused including police personnel. During this, Chandrashekhar also announced to contest elections from Nagina Lok Sabha seat of Bijnor to provide justice to his sisters and daughters. Actually, the family resident of the village of Bhopa police station area had gone to work as a laborer at a crusher in Dhanaura Silvernagar village of Baghpat. It is alleged that the girl of the family was molested by crusher owners Pramod, Raju and Sandeep. When the victim protested, the accused threw her into the cauldron of boiling juice. The girl was badly burnt. On Thursday, ASP national president Chandrashekhar reached Begrajpur Medical College in Muzaffarnagar to meet the victim and her family. He said that it is very unfortunate that even after such a big incident, the police did not register a case immediately. In fact, the accused beat up the victim’s brother who went to file the report, yet the police did not take any action. When the Baghpat team of Azad Samaj Party put pressure on the police, a case was registered.

Chandrashekhar lashed out at BJP government

Chandrashekhar said where is Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao and women empowerment. BJP gathers votes by holding Dalit caste conferences only by fooling them. No BJP official came to meet the family. BKU protest on farmers’ problems in Muzaffarnagar

Bharatiya Kisan Union Tikait surrounded the Muzaffarnagar Collectorate regarding the problems related to farmers. The farmers who arrived riding on tractors protested for two and a half hours. ADM administration was made aware of the problems by making them sit in the middle of the dharna. A memorandum of 14-point demands was submitted to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. District President Yogesh Sharma said that if the farmers do not get justice, a fierce battle will be fought. BKU workers reached the Collectorate premises on the issue of sugarcane farmers. During the dharna, people expressed their views regarding declaration of sugarcane price, free electricity for irrigation, disposal of stray animals, payment of sugarcane dues and other demands. He also accused the government of breaking its promise. Also described the problem of stray animals as very serious. District President Yogesh Sharma said that this one-day demonstration has been organized under the state level call. If the demand is not met then a decision will be taken for a big movement. During this, the officials made ADM Administration Narendra Bahadur Singh sit among them at the protest site itself for about ten minutes. After this a memorandum was given to the Chief Minister.

Farmers have not yet received free electricity for irrigation

He said that the state government had promised farmers free electricity for irrigation. This was also announced during the budget presentation, but till now it has not been implemented on the ground. The process of installing meters from tube wells should be stopped with immediate effect and earlier, on taking connection of a private tube well, farmers were given 300 meter power line from the department, this should be implemented again. In the last four years, by increasing the price of sugarcane by only Rs 25 per quintal, efforts were made to make the farmers poorer. The government should increase the price of sugarcane to Rs 500 per quintal. Sugarcane payments worth crores of rupees are still pending at many sugar mills in the state. The outstanding payment should be made as soon as possible. The problem of stray animals is serious and farmers suffer a lot due to this. This should be resolved as soon as possible. Apart from this, other demands were raised.
