UP News: Awadh Assam Express caught fire at Bareilly Junction, passengers jumped from the train, know the whole matter

Bareilly : A sudden fire broke out in the sleeper coach of 15910 Avadh Assam Express going from Lalgarh to Dibrugarh on Monday at Bareilly Junction of Northern Railway. There was panic among the passengers traveling in the train. Station master informed GRP and RPF. Police personnel along with the fire brigade controlled the fire with great difficulty. Due to this the train remained standing at Bareilly Junction for about an hour. After extinguishing the fire, the train was sent to further stations. But, due to fire in Guwahati Express, trains coming from behind had to be stopped at many places. This train arrived at Bareilly Junction with a delay of hours. 15910 Guwahati Express going from Lalgarh station of Haryana to Dibrugarh station ran on schedule on Sunday night. This train also reached Bareilly Junction before time. But, during this time, a bag kept on berth 55 of sleeper coach S-2 of Guwahati Express suddenly caught fire. The flames that started in the bag spread throughout the coach within a short time. There was a stampede of passengers in the sleeper coach. This fire was moving towards other coaches of the train.

Police busy searching for the bag

Railway personnel informed the station master. Station master informed GRP and RPF. Immediately GRP and RPF personnel reached the coach of the train. He along with the fire brigade team brought the fire under control. Due to this the train remained standing at the station for an hour. After the fire was extinguished, the train moved forward. After this the railway workers heaved a sigh of relief. Police said that due to Diwali there was a lot of crowd in the train. Meanwhile, a passenger threw beedi or cigarette in the coach after smoking his bag. This is why the bag caught fire. The police is searching for the owner of the bag and the person who threw the burning beedi cigarette on the bag.

Train arrived hours late, passengers worried

After the fire in Avadh Assam Express at Bareilly Junction, the train coming from behind was stopped at various stations. After the departure of Guwahati Express, another train arrived at the station. Due to this the passengers had to wait for hours.
