UP News: ATS raids against Rohingya Muslims in six districts of UP, 74 arrested so far

Lucknow / Aligarh : In Uttar Pradesh, on Monday, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (UP ATS) launched a crackdown against Rohingya Muslims who were hiding their identities across the state. The biggest action took place in Mathura. About 31 Rohingya Muslims have been arrested from three places in this campaign that started before the Chief Minister’s visit. There is information of 74 arrests across the state. This number may increase if action continues in six districts. Uttar Pradesh ATS has given this information through a press release. On the instructions of Uttar Pradesh Government and Director General of Police, ATS Uttar Pradesh has launched a campaign against Rohingyas living illegally in entire Uttar Pradesh.

UP ATS said that the team was receiving information that Rohingyas are being settled in various districts of Uttar Pradesh by crossing the border illegally. The above information was verified by the field units of District Police and ATS, in order to which, on July 24, ATS, in collaboration with district police, launched a campaign against Rohingyas living illegally in Uttar Pradesh and arrested a total of 74 Rohingyas living illegally. Legal action is being taken against the total 74 arrested Rohingyas by registering charges under relevant sections in the concerned police stations of the above districts.

How many Rohingyas were arrested from which district?

Two men from Saharanpur, two men from Meerut, one male child abuser and one female abuser, 12 men, one woman, 2 male child abusers, one female child abuser from Hapur, 3 men, one woman from Ghaziabad, 7 men, 10 women from Aligarh, 29 men and two women from Mathura have been arrested. Most of the Rohingyas have been arrested from Mathura, in which 31 Rohingyas have been arrested. Rohingyas living in huts in Alhepur and Kota villages were caught secretly by the ATS team. The operation, which lasted for eight hours, was started after midnight.

17 Rohigya caught hiding their identity in Aligarh

17 Rohingya Muslims living illegally in Aligarh have been arrested. Action is being taken against them under the section of the Foreigners Act. ATS UP had received information that Rohingyas are living in different districts of Uttar Pradesh by crossing the border illegally. On this information, verification was done by the unit of District Police and ATS. On Monday, a campaign was launched by the ATS in Aligarh with the help of the police against the Rohingyas who were living in illegal houses. In Aligarh, 17 people were arrested from Kot, Makdoom Nagar area, above Thana Kotwali. Legal action is being taken against the 17 arrested Rohigyas by registering charges in the police station.

As part of action against Rohingya Muslims who had infiltrated into India from Bangladesh, Mathura police and PAC battalion along with UP ATS team in Jaint area of ​​Mathura police station started taking swift action early in the morning. To trend these children, Maulvi was also giving training in Urdu etc. Under the leadership of Mathura’s SSP Shailesh Pandey and SP City Martand Prakash Singh, the slum huts built near Alahpur village on the Agra-Delhi National Highway were first raided. Action taken at three places here. The team that arrived at midnight first checked everyone’s papers and later detained about 40 Rohingya Muslims. Although officially 31 arrests have been reported.
