Agra. After the incident of gang rape of a girl in a home stay on Chhoti Diwali in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, the police is running a campaign against the home stays being operated illegally. Till now 35 home stays have been closed. Police action is going on at the home stays around Taj Mahal. All home stays are running without permission. According to the rules, everyone had to get registered under the Sarai Act. Let us tell you that on Chhoti Diwali, an incident of gang rape of a woman came to light in Rich Home Stay located in Tajganj. Police have so far arrested five people including a woman in this case. When the police investigated the matter, they found out that the home stay was not registered under the Sarai Act. The flat in which the home stay is going on is said to be owned by one Santosh Sharma. During investigation, the accused had told that they had taken this home stay on rent only a month ago. Actually home stay means home like environment. For this it is necessary to be the owner of the house. To open a home stay, one has to go to the tourism department office and take a form. After filling the form, the house is inspected by a team from the tourism department. Which you want to make a home stay. The officials look at the home for which the license is to be granted. Whether any family is already living there or not? If a family is not living there then it is not given a home stay license. But there are hundreds of such home stays open in Tajganj area which are being operated on rent.

Checking around Taj Mahal

Agra’s Tajganj police is checking all the home stays around the Taj Mahal. Registers are also being checked and it is being ascertained as to how long this home stay has been operating. Who owns them and whether they are registered or not. Those who do not have registration are being banned. After this, all these home stays will now be open only after registration.
