UP News: Accurate weather forecast will be made in UP, automatic rain gauge and weather station started

Lucknow: Accurate weather forecast will be available in UP. On Saturday, Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra inaugurated 200 automatic rain gauges and 450 automatic weather stations being installed in Uttar Pradesh. On this occasion, he said that these Automatic Weather Stations (AWS) and (ARG) will be useful in providing real time weather information as well as providing early warning and improving pre-disaster preparedness. Due to which disaster response can be made effective. These stations will be directly beneficial in the management of floods, heat waves, cold waves, droughts, storms, storms, heavy rains.

The Chief Secretary said that it was told that at present 69 Automatic Weather Stations (AWS) and automatic instruments are available with the Meteorological Department in the state, which are inadequate considering the disaster sensitivity of the state. In view of this, the Office of the Relief Commissioner, Revenue Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh has started the project of meteorological observation systems in the state. Under this project, a network of 01 automatic rain gauge stations (AWS) in each tehsil and a total of 450 automatic rain gauge stations intensively in urban areas and minimum 02-02 in each block are being established in the state. So that weather related data can be broadcasted directly without any human intervention.
