Jokhu, a resident of Khargupur police station area, got married to a girl named Shivani, a resident of Lakhimpur Kheri, on December 17 with great pomp at the Prithvinath temple. On 21st December, a Manglik program was organized at the wedding house. In this Manglik program, newly married Shivani’s brother Karori alias Sunil, friend Gudiya and Chhotu accused Gudiya’s husband and marriage arranger Jokhu had come to participate in the Manglik program.

She had absconded with goods worth lakhs of rupees kept in the house. A case was filed in Khargupur police station by her husband Brijbhushan Pandey regarding the entire matter. Khargupur Police, while disclosing the entire incident, has arrested four people including the vicious robber bride Shivani alias Gomti Devi. All the stolen items have been recovered from the arrested people. The intoxicating pills used to carry out the incident have also been recovered. Accused Jokhu has a history of being a big criminal. Earlier he also used to work as a poisoner.
