Lucknow: ED has registered a case of money laundering against Chief Material Manager of Railways KC Joshi, who was caught by CBI from Gorakhpur. About Rs 4 crore in cash was recovered from KC Joshi in the CBI raid.
KC Joshi was caught red-handed taking a bribe of Rs 3 lakh on September 12. It is noteworthy that the CBI team had recovered approximately Rs 2.61 crore from the residence of Principal Chief Material Manager KC Joshi posted in North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur and Rs 1.40 crore in the bank accounts of his family members. Apart from this, documents of jewelery and properties worth Rs 60 lakh were found. Joshi was caught by the CBI on September 12 taking a bribe of Rs 3 lakh from a railway contractor. There was an allegation against him of demanding a bribe of Rs 7 lakh from the owner of the firm which won the railway tender through GeM portal.
The complainant’s company was providing Rs 80 thousand per truck per month to the Railways on the basis of annual contract. After the complaint, CBI laid a trap and arrested KC Joshi while taking a bribe of Rs 3 lakh from the complainant. Now ED has registered a case of money laundering against KC Joshi. Now their problems are going to increase further.
