Lucknow. Strict security arrangements are being made to prevent any kind of disturbances in the municipal elections. On the guidelines of the State Election Commission, the police headquarters has decided the blueprint for the deployment of the central government and state forces. Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar has given this information on Tuesday. It has been decided to conduct municipal elections in Uttar Pradesh in two phases. Sensitive and highly sensitive booths have been identified. The force will be deployed on the basis of the sensitivity of the booths.

49,152 home guards also deployed, force sought from central government

Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar told that the voting in the first phase will be held on May 4 and the second phase on May 11. The counting of votes will be held in the entire state on 13 May 2023. During this, the guidelines of Kovid will also be followed. 110 companies of PAC will be deployed in the elections. About 16,300 inspectors will be put on duty. 49,152 home guards will also be deployed. Apart from this, 70 companies of Central Security Forces (CAPF) have been demanded from the Central Government.

Election of 199 municipal council, 544 president of panchayat by ballot

Election of 199 president and 5327 members of Uttar Pradesh Nagar Palika Parishad will be done through ballot papers. Election of 544 president and 7178 members of Nagar Panchayat will be done through ballot papers. Elections will be held on a total of 14,684 posts of urban bodies in Uttar Pradesh. EVM will be used for the election of 17 mayors and 1420 councillors. For other posts, votes will be cast through mach patra (ballot paper). Means 199 posts of Nagar Palika Parishad President, 5327 posts of Nagar Palika Parishad member (Sabhasad) and 544 Nagar Panchayat President and 7178 Nagar Panchayat members are to be elected through ballot papers.

Shamli, Muzaffarnagar and Saharanpur, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur and Sambhal, Agra, Firozabad, Mathura, Mainpuri, Jhansi, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Ghazipur, Varanasi, Jalaun Lalitpur, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Lucknow , Unnao, Hardoi, Rae Bareilly, Sitapur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Gonda, Bahraich, Balrampur, Shravasti, Chandauli and Jaunpur will be voted in the first phase.

City government will be elected here on May 11

Meerut, Hapur, Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Baghpat, Bulandshahr, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Hathras, Kasganj, Etah, Aligarh Farrukhabad, Etawah, Kannauj, Auraiya, Hamirpur, Chitrakoot, Mahoba, Banda, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Kanpur Nagar , Kanpur Dehat, Ambedkar Nagar, Barabanki, Amethi, Santakbir Nagar, Basti and Siddharth Nagar will vote.
