UP Holiday List 2024: Uttar Pradesh government has released the holidays calendar for the coming year 2024. In this, the state government has declared a total of 56 holidays in different categories. In the order issued by the state government, it has been said that if any festival, national festival and the birth date of great men fall together on the same day, then in such a case, no separate public holiday will be declared. The dates of all public holidays of the year 2024 i.e. Shak Samvat 1945-1946 and Vikram Samvat 2080-2081 are under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. Uttar Pradesh Government Mohd. Hazrat Ali’s Birthday, Republic Day, Mahashivratri, Holika Dahan, Holi, Good Friday, Eid-ul-Fitr, Dr. Ambedkar’s Birthday, Ram Navami, Mahavir Jayanti, Buddha Purnima, Idujuha (Bakrid), Muharram, Independence Day, Raksha Bandhan, Janmashtami, Eid-e-Milad-Baravfat, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, Dussehra-Mahanvanami-Vijayadashami, Diwali, Govardhan Puja, Bhaiya Dooj-Chitragupt Jayanti, Guru Nanak Jayanti-Kartik Purnima and Christmas Day have been declared public holidays.
These festivals are included in the list of restricted holidays
Along with this, Uttar Pradesh government has included New Year, Makar Sankranti, Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Ajmeri, Garib Nawaz in the list of restricted holidays. Urs, Jannayak Karpoori Thakur Birthday, Basant Panchami, Sant Ravidas Jayanti, Shabe Barat, Holi, Easter Saturday, Easter Monday, Jamaat-ul-Vida – Last Friday of Ramzan – Maharishi Kashyap and Maharaja Nishad Raj Guhya Jayanti, Cheti Chand, Eid -Ul-Fitr, Chandrashekhar Jayanti, Lok Narayan Maharana Pratap Jayanti, Parshuram Jayanti, Eidujah, Moharram, Chehallum, Vishwakarma Puja-Anant Chaturdashi, Maharaja Agrasena Jayanti, Dussehra, Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti, Narak Chaturdashi, Sardar Vallabh Bhai and Acharya Narendra Dev Jayanti. Holidays have been announced for Chhath Puja festival, Martyrdom Day of Veerangana Uda Devi, Birthday of Chaudhary Charan Singh and Christmas Eve.
The Uttar Pradesh government has declared 1 April 2024 as a holiday for the annual accounting of banks. Apart from this, under the executive order, the government has announced holidays on Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti and Guru Teg Bahadur Martyrdom Day.
